Abstract:Methods and systems for presentation and control of an augmented virtual vehicle view with surround view imaging, that include generating a stitched image view based on surround view image data for a vehicle and generating a pose estimation for the vehicle, wherein the pose estimation provides a vehicle position and a vehicle orientation relative to the stitched image view. In one or more examples, the methods and systems include augmenting the stitched image view to include one or more graphical elements based on the pose estimation for the vehicle, presenting a graphical display of the stitched image view including the one or more graphical elements and a vehicle avatar. Further, in at least one example, the methods and systems may include detecting position commands for a position of the vehicle avatar within the graphical display and updating the avatar position and iconography in response to the position commands.

Abstract:The present disclosure relates to systems, devices and methods for presentation and control of a virtual vehicle view with surround view imaging. Surround view imaging may be augmented with iconography. In one embodiment, a method includes generating a stitched image view based on surround view image data for a vehicle includes the stitched image view and virtual camera position data to an augmented reality module of the first device, determining a pose estimation for the vehicle to provide vehicle position and orientation, and augmenting the stitched image view to include graphical elements based on the pose estimation and virtual camera position. Presentation of the stitched image view including the one or more graphical elements can be updated based on changes to a virtual camera position direction and angle, changes in vehicle position and control inputs. Device and systems are provided to present augmented surround view imaging.

Abstract:A motor vehicle system for generating and transmitting motor vehicle imaging object data includes a communication system module positioned in a host vehicle receiving vehicle attribute data during host vehicle highway travel and preparing a fused object attribute data for transmission. An imaging device collects object imaging data representing objects within a visible detection range of the imaging device. An object detection and classification system module has an object classification sub-module used to classify the objects within the visible detection range as a vehicle type or a pedestrian and to output each as an object attribute data. A target fusion module receives the object attribute data from the object detection and classification system module, fuses the object attribute data with the vehicle attribute data to create the fused object attribute data, and forwards the fused object attribute data to the communication system module for transmission.

Abstract:A system and method of using V2V communication to inventory and communicate the availability of a parking space. The method includes capturing and analyzing an image of a parking area to identify the availability and location of a parking space. Real time images of roaming vehicles are also captured and analyzed to identify recently occupied or vacated parking spaces. Available parking spaces are inventoried in a data base. The method further includes a roaming V2V vehicle detecting the availability and location of a parking space and transmitting the information to other V2V vehicles and to the data base to augment the inventory. The database inventory is then transmitted by a roadside unit to a V2V equipped vehicle within the parking area. The V2V vehicle merges the information from the database and other V2V vehicles, and generates a LDM displaying the locations of non-occupied parking spaces contained in the multiple signals.
