Abstract:

An intravascular device can have an elongate shaft and a proximal hub assembly. The proximal hub assembly can include an interference fit member (IFM) which forms an interference fit with a carrier tube to reduce the tendency of the device to fall out of the carrier tube during handling and to provide for easy removal of the device when ready for use.

Abstract:

Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include an elongate inner member having a guidewire lumen extending therethrough. An outer member may be disposed about the inner member. An inflation lumen may be formed between the inner member and the outer member. The medical device may be configured to have a first stiffness when the inflation lumen is free of inflation media and a second stiffness different from the first stiffness when inflation media is disposed within the inflation lumen. In addition, the inner member may include a collapsible region that is configured to deflect radially inward when inflation media is disposed within the inflation lumen.

Abstract:

An integrated crossing balloon catheter. The catheter includes a hub assembly secured to the proximal end of the catheter shaft, an inflatable balloon secured to the distal end of the catheter shaft, and a stiffening tube positioned over the inflatable balloon and a distal end portion of the catheter shaft. The stiffening tube is configured to be advanced through a vasculature with the catheter shaft as a unit. The stiffening tube is translatable along the catheter shaft from a first position in which the inflatable balloon is within the stiffening tube to a second position in which the inflatable balloon is exposed from the stiffening tube.

Abstract:

A chemotherapy agent comprising a chemotherapy group and a ligand secured to the chemotherapy group is disclosed, the ligand comprising a reactive group capable of bonding to a capture substrate. A method of removing chemotherapy agents from a patient is disclosed, the method comprising providing a chemotherapy agent containing a reactive group; providing a capture substrate in contact with a patient's bloodstream; administering the chemotherapy agent to the patient; and sequestering the chemotherapy agent on the capture substrate. A system for removing chemotherapy agents is also disclosed.
