Abstract:

In a database, a high availability data replicator () synchronizes primary and secondary servers (). A smart large object application program interface () resides on the secondary server (). A cache module () creates a memory cache () corresponding to a smart large object responsive to a smart large object read operation requested by a client (). A smart large object read module () executes the read operation without acquiring a lock on the corresponding smart large object. An exception module () sends an exception to the client () responsive to a synchronizing event of the high availability data replicator () modifying said smart large object. On the primary server (), log entries of the modifying operation are ordered so that a log entry updating a large object header of said smart large object is consistent immediately upon execution on the secondary server ().

Methods for identifying array areas in dies formed on a wafer and methods for setting up such methods are provided. One method for identifying array areas in dies formed on a wafer includes comparing an array pattern in a template image acquired in one of the array areas to a search area image acquired for the wafer. The method also includes determining areas in the search area image in which a pattern is formed that substantially matches the array pattern in the template image based on results of the comparing step. In addition, the method includes identifying the array areas in the dies formed on the wafer based on results of the determining step.

Abstract:

Initial set up of replication from the data storage of a primary server to the data storage of a secondary server is achieved in a fast and efficient manner that is transparent to the database servers. This is achieved by using external utilities to backup and restore for a high availability data replication set up. Data transfer can be achieved by mirroring the database storage of the primary server to an external storage during the normal operation of the server. Then transfer to the data storage of the secondary server can be carried out without disrupting the operation of the primary server. Another alternative is to transfer files directly from the primary server database storage to the secondary. After transfer, the servers are then ready for synchronization.
