A system and method of playing an extension game to a lottery game is disclosed. A lottery game player enters a base game and receives a base game entry, and may elect to play a second lottery game in addition to the base game, and if so, selects or has selected for them game indicia therefor. A winning entry for the base game is selected, whereupon the winning game indicia for the second game is selected to be the game indicia selected for the second game on the winning base game entry. Lottery players who won the base game receive a prize, and those lottery players who did not win the base game but that have the winning game indicia for the second game, as well as those lottery players that won the base game and have the have the winning game indicia for the second game, receive a prize.
A lottery terminal apparatus and method of playing a word based lottery includes a value input device, a display unit and a lottery input unit for receiving alphabetical game play information wherein the display unit is adapted to visually display the received alphabetical game play information. The lottery terminal unit further includes a controller having a memory and a processor, wherein the controller is operatively coupled to the display unit and is programmed to receive wager data in response to a wager made by a person. The controller and method may assign a prize value to the alphabetical game play information received from the lottery input unit and randomly select an alphabetic sample based on a distribution of choices. The controller may further determine a correlation between the alphabetic sample and the alphanumeric game play information to determine a payout value based on a comparison of the alphabetic sample and the alphanumeric game play information to determine the prize value.

A word-based lottery game wherein a player buys a ticket with a word or set of words and may win a prize if the outcome of a draw confers a win status to one or more words in the ticket. The draw is a random process for which an outcome is a concatenation of characters and may confer word a winner based upon a rule such as being able to compose the word with the drawn characters.

Abstract:
In one aspect, the invention is directed to a method for conducting a dynamic lottery game, and may include determining an opening entry for the player for the dynamic lottery game. The method may also include dispensing a dynamic lottery game ticket to the player, the dynamic lottery game ticket having indicia disposed thereon corresponding to the opening entry for the player for the dynamic lottery game, reading player selection indicia on the dynamic lottery game ticket, wherein the player selection indicia on the dynamic lottery game ticket corresponds to a dynamic lottery game selection for the player, and determining an outcome of the dynamic lottery game, the outcome being determined based on the player selection indicia. Still further, the method may include dispensing a continuation ticket to the player, the continuation ticket having indicia disposed thereon corresponding to the outcome of the dynamic lottery game for the player, reading the indicia corresponding to the outcome of the dynamic lottery game for the player, determining whether the outcome of the dynamic lottery game is a winning outcome based on the indicia corresponding to the outcome of the dynamic lottery game for the player, and dispensing value to the player in response to determining that the outcome of the dynamic lottery game for the player is a winning outcome.
A method for hosting a word-based lottery game having a plurality of players is disclosed. A player selects a plurality of cells from a playslip and these cells will be converted to a plurality of letters and symbols by a lottery game machine. The player will use these letters and symbols along with one or more letter(s) drawn by the lottery to form words and compare these words with a list of words. For each formed word that is on the list, a point is awarded and extra bonus points may be awarded to some special words. The total points obtained by the player is compared with a prize table and the player is awarded a prize according to the prize table.
Lottery Game Based On Combining Player Selections With Lottery Draws To Select Objects From A Third Set Of Indicia
A system and method for implementing a lottery game that correlates a first and second sequence of indicia, such as by pairing each term in the first sequence with the term in the second sequence in the same relative position. The correlation is subsequently mapped to a third set of indicia by the game process. For example, the game process may be a Latin square for which each term in the first sequence is identified with a row and each term in the second sequence is identified with a column (or vice versa) and the entries of the square are elements of a third set. Prizes are determined based on the properties of the third set of indicia, such as the number of occurrences of a particular symbol. The entertainment value lies in the various correlating and mapping.
The invention is a system and method for hosting a multi-matrix game where a player makes selection from two matrices and the winning numbers are also drawn from these two matrices. Matches are allowed between the player's selection from one matrix and the winning numbers selected from a different matrix.
