Abstract:

A method and system for converting a feedstock using thermal plasma or other gassifier, into a feedwater or make up water energy transfer system. Feedstock is any organic material or fossil fuel. The energy transferred in the feedwater or make N up water is used in any Rankine or other steam process, or any process that requires heat. Heat is extracted from a gas product issued by a gassifier and is delivered to a power plant via its feedwater system or make up water system. Preferably, the gassifier is a plasma gassifier and the gas product is syngas that is combusted in an afterburner. A heated air flow and/or EGR flow is provided the afterburner at a variable flow rate that is responsive an operating characteristic of the afterburner.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure include a system for reducing an operating expense and a steam oil ratio (SOR) of at least one of an enhanced oil recovery system and a gas recovery system. The system can include a boiler configured to produce steam. The system can further include a super-heater in fluid communication with the boiler, the super-heater configured to generate a plurality of super-heat levels in a plurality of sections of the at least one of the enhanced oil recovery system and the gas recovery system downstream of the super-heater, wherein the plurality of super-heat levels are implemented per each one of the plurality of downstream sections of the at least one of the enhanced oil recovery system and gas recovery system to reduce the SOR.

Abstract:

Various embodiments of the present disclosure include a system, method, and apparatus for increased control of steam injection for use in oil and gas recovery in a well. Embodiments can comprise a plurality of controllable zones of injection disposed in the well. The plurality of controllable zones include a primary conduit that houses a plurality of concentric conduits of decreasing diameter disposed inside of the primary conduit. In some embodiments, each of the concentric conduits includes a proximal end and a distal end. In some embodiments, each of the plurality of concentric conduits are fluidly sealed from one another from their respective proximal end to distal end.
