Abstract:

The present invention provides an atherectomy catheter which has a cutting element that is able to cut both soft tissue and hard tissue, and methods of cutting material from a blood vessel lumen using a rotating cutting element. The cutting element has a sharp cutting edge that surrounds a cup-shaped surface and at least one surface of abrasive material. The cup-shaped surface directs the cut material into a tissue chamber. The cutting edge and the cup-shaped surface together are well suited to cut and remove relatively soft tissue from the blood vessel. The abrasive material surface in combination with the cutting element is well suited to abrade and remove hard material from the blood vessel.

A system includes a plurality of photovoltaic modules installed on a roof deck in an array and at least one jumper module electrically connecting a first subarray to a second subarray of the array. The jumper module includes at least one electrical bussing and an encapsulant encapsulating the at least one electrical bussing. The jumper module includes a frontsheet juxtaposed with the encapsulant. The frontsheet includes a first layer and a polymer layer attached to the first layer.

Abstract:

Systems and methods for generating, reading, and using contrast barcodes for information access is disclosed. A code is received and embedded into one or more edges within or alongside an object by adjusting gamuts such as colors to create contrast. In example embodiments, an image of an object embedded with a contrast edge barcode is received from a user device. A plurality of axis points is defined along an area in the image containing a contrast edge barcode. Data encoded in the pixels along the axis points are decoded by detecting a contrast in colors.

Abstract:

A system for simulating a breathing lung is disclosed. The system comprises a lung model contained within an enclosure, wherein a main bronchus of the lung model is open to ambient air. In one embodiment, the system also comprises a vacuum pump connected to the enclosure, a first normally closed 2-way valve connected to the enclosure, a flow controller connected to both the vacuum pump and the enclosure, and a timer connected to the first normally closed 2-way valve. In alternative embodiments, the system comprises a first pump connected to the enclosure and a second pump connected to the enclosure, wherein the first and second pumps work independently of each other, and wherein the first pump is a vacuum pump, and the second pump is either a peristaltic pump or a piston pump.
