About:

Allan was born and raised in Litchfield, Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. After graduation, he received a Regular Army commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Field Artillery. Allan then graduated from both Ranger and Airborne schools before being assigned to a Field Artillery Battalion in Bamberg, Germany. After he was promoted to Captain, Allan was transferred to the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Bong Son, Vietnam. During his Vietnam tour, Allan earned two Bronze Stars. He ended his military career at the Headquarters, US Army Europe, in Heidelberg, Germany. In 1974 Allan began his real estate career in St. Cloud, MN, where he was involved in residential and commercial sales. In 1982 Allan moved to Keystone, CO, a ski resort community in the Rocky Mountains. He was a broker for two real estate firms, which dealt with the second home market. In 1990, Allan became the Managing Broker for Real Estate of the Summit in Breckenridge, CO. Allan bought the company in 2001 and sold it in 2008. He maintains his Colorado real estate license. Allan has been a property owner in Tucson since 2002. He now works for Long Realty Company, which is owned by the Warren Buffett conglomerate. Allan's wife, Storm Rogers Johnson, who grew up on the North Shore of Chicago, is a psychotherapist (MSW, LCSW). His daughter, Karin, who graduated from Georgetown Law School, is a corporate attorney with the Los Angeles law firm, Sheppard Mullin. She works in their Washington, DC office. Max, a standard poodle, and Senorita Bonita Gordita, a Maine Coon cat, complete the family. Allan takes great pride in nurturing his year round resident hummingbirds. Golf is Allan's passion. He currently holds a 12 handicap. After 3 back surgeries (The last one was quite successful!), he hung up his ski Instructor poles, stopped motorcycle riding, and no longer guided snowmobile trips. Allan enjoys cruising Lake Powell in his Sea Ray. Photography is his latest passion. He is presently specializing in desert flowers. Some of his work can be seen at www.SWArtPhotos.com. He also volunteers as docent at Arizona State Museum's "Paths of Life Exhibit" (the history of the 10 Native American cultural groups in the SW). The Wounded Warriors, who are disabled military personnel returning from Iraq, and the National Park Foundation, which supports and helps maintains the National Parks, are his charities.
