Abstract:
Existing approaches for deception detection are primarily based on polygraph systems that measure specific channels of physiology in highly structured interviews and that are interpreted by trained polygraph examiners. Existing approaches for predicting interviewer accuracy involve interviewers' own estimates of their performances which inevitably are biased. The methods and systems described herein provides objective, quantitative and automated metrics to detect deception and predict interviewer accuracy. Physiological information of the interviewer during the interview is recorded by at least a first sensor. The physiological information includes a time series of physiological data. An interview assessment is calculated by a computer. By processing the recorded physiological information, the interview assessment indicates at least one of whether a statement made by the interviewee is likely to be deceitful and whether the interviewer is likely to be accurate in estimating truthfulness of the interviewee. The interview assessment is output by the computer.

Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to an engagement-adaptive system. The system includes a content delivery module configured to deliver content to a user, a context logger configured to associate events in the delivered content with temporal locations in a first time-series. The system also includes an indicator measurement module configured to measure at least one engagement indicator and associate the measurements with temporal locations in a second time-series. The system includes an engagement analysis module configured to generate at least one engagement value based on a calculated relationship between the first and second time-series and an adaptation module configured to receive the at least one engagement value and modify execution of computer executable instructions by a processor based on the received engagement value.

Abstract:
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other anxiety disorders, are diagnosed via clinical interviews in which subjective self-reports of traumatic events and associated experiences are discussed with a mental health professional. The system and methods described herein classify and diagnose patients as suffering from anxiety disorders by measuring objective physiological measures, such as inter-heartbeat interval and skin conductance. The system measures various physiological measures and then extracts features from the physiological measures. A diagnosis is then made by classifying the extracted features using one of a neural network, Bayesian network, or a support vector machine.
