Abstract:
A IP telephony service allows customers to form user groups. Each user group can include multiple members, each of whom have their own telephony device. When a member of a user group sends a messages to another member of the user group, the message is posted to a group message board so that all members of the group can view the message. This could include sending information to each of the telephony devices for all members of the group so that each telephony device could display the message on a display screen. The displayed messages could also indicate who sent each message and to whom each message was directed. As a result, each member of the group can view messages passing back and forth between all members of the group.

Abstract:
Roaming of mobile devices is tracked and accounted for automatically and accurately. Revenue records are received for at least one service provider due to roaming of mobile devices within a particular geographical area served by the at least one service provider for mobile devices that do not have a subscription for service with the service provider for the particular geographic area. Expense records are received for the service provider due to roaming of mobile devices within other geographical areas served by at least one other service provider and not served by the at least one service provider. Each of the revenue and expense records is associated with a particular mobile device and includes a code identifying a particular service provider with which the particular mobile device has a subscription and a code identifying a particular geographical area assigned to the particular mobile device. The codes identifying particular service providers and particular geographical areas assigned to the mobile devices are validated against a list of predefined service providers and predefined geographical areas. If the codes are valid, the revenue records and expense records received over a period of time are compiled and summarized.
Fault-Tolerant Cache Coherence Over A Lossy Network

Abstract:
A cache coherence system manages both internode and intranode cache coherence in a cluster of nodes. Each node in the cluster of nodes is either a collection of processors running an intranode coherence protocol between themselves, or a single processor. A node comprises a plurality of coherence ordering units (COUs) that are hardware circuits configured to manage intranode coherence of caches within the node and/or internode coherence with caches on other nodes in the cluster. Each node contains one or more directories which tracks the state of cache line entries managed by the particular node. Each node may also contain one or more scoreboards for managing the status of ongoing transactions. The internode cache coherence protocol implemented in the COUs may be used to detect and resolve communications errors, such as dropped message packets between nodes, late message delivery at a node, or node failure. Additionally, a transport layer manages communication between the nodes in the cluster, and can additionally be used to detect and resolve communications errors.
