Abstract:

A communication system is disclosed including a first digital telephone set, a second digital telephone set, or its processing equivalent, having a private branch exchange (PBX)-paging server interface, and a PBX operative between the first digital telephone set and the second digital telephone set, wherein the second digital telephone set transmits text messages received from the first digital telephone set to a paging server via the PBX-paging server interface and wherein the paging server transmits the text messages to a pager. Also disclosed is a communication method including the steps of keying-in a text message on a first digital telephone set, transmitting the text message, via a private branch exchange (PBX), from the first digital telephone set to a second digital telephone set having a PBX-paging server interface, transmitting the text message, via the PBX-paging server interface, from the second digital telephone set to a paging server, transmitting the text message from the paging server to a pager, and displaying the text message on the pager.

Abstract:

An IP telephone appliance providing secure voice communication and data transmission for itself and other IP devices and applications associated with it. The IP telephone appliance incorporates a processor for converting voice signals received from a user into VoIP packets, and an IPSec stack encoding packets prior to transmission. The IP telephone appliance also encodes packets on behalf of other devices and applications prior to transmitting the packets to a destination. When encoded voice or data packets are received from a source device, the IP telephone appliance decodes the packets and determines their destination. If the IP telephone appliance is the ultimate destination, the voice/data packets are converted to voice/telephony signals and provided to the user. Otherwise, if the ultimate destination is another device on the network, the IP telephone appliance forwards the decoded packets to the ultimate destination.

Abstract:

A system and method for integrating a legacy IP-PBX to a session initiation protocol (SIP) network supporting one or more SIP sets. A SIP-PBX proxy server coupled to the legacy IP-PBX and the SIP network maintains a logical IP set for each SIP set on the SIP network. The logical IP set is configured to maintain IP-based signaling and media connectivity with the legacy IP-PBX. The SIP-PBX proxy server receives media directed to a logical IP set associated with a particular SIP set, and redirects the media to the particular SIP set. In doing so, the SIP-PBX converts messages that adhere to a private, vendor-specific protocol, to messages that adhere to the SIP protocol.

Abstract:

A method and system for intercepting and forwarding High-Speed SECS Message Services (HSMS) communication between at least two entities, includes a fail-safe bypass to ensure the communications link between the entities is not severed upon failure of the intercepting/forwarding agent. A “pass-through” agent is placed in between two entities communicating via an HSMS link, such that the pass-through agent is able to intercept messages from one entity and forward it to the other entity, and vice versa. The pass-through agent is able to see all messages between the two entities, and is also able to create HSMS messages and send them to one of the entities as if the message had come from the other entity, thereby conferring the ability to inject additional HSMS messages. Should the pass-through agent fail, a bypass mechanism ensures that the two entities can automatically resume HSMS communication without the pass-through agent.

A system for conducting multimedia SIP sessions via multiple hosts, such as a PC and a telephone. Display data is transmitted to the session participant via the PC, and voice data is transmitted to the session participant via the telephone. An SIP split user agent proxy server receives an incoming SIP call from a calling client and transmits call signals associated with display data to the PC for allowing the PC to display documents, video, graphics, and/or text related to the call. Call signals associated with voice are transmitted to an SIP emulation client coupled to the telephone for allowing the telephone to engage in the voice communication.

Abstract:

A positive displacement compressor designed for near isothermal compression. A rotor includes a curved sealing portion that coincides with a in an interior rotor casing wall. Liquid injectors provide cooling liquid. A gate moves within the compression chamber to either make contact with or be proximate to the rotor as it turns. Gate positioning systems position the gate in this manner, taking into account the shape of the rotor. Outlet valves allow for expulsion of liquids and compressed gas. The unique geometry and relationship between the parts provides for efficiencies and higher pressures not previously found in existing compressor designs.
