Abstract:

A lightweight foldable cart for transporting on wheels one end of a small boat including a pair of identical frame or strut members, each being U-shaped with spaced arms extending parallel to each other from ends of a rear plate. Distal ends of the arms each include an opening for a shaft so that when the shaft extends through the openings joining the distal ends of the arms the frame members can be rotated about the shaft from an extended, deployed position to a folded position for storage. Each rear plate has an opening for an axle, which extends through the openings in the rear plate for supporting rotatable wheels at each end of the axle. A boat supporting bumper is mounted on the distal ends of the arms when the strut members are extended into the deployed position. The bumper is shaped to accommodate a bottom of the end of the boat to be supported and transported.

Abstract:

An example of a system for presenting coupons is disclosed herein. An example of the system includes a user interface to collect information from a user and present coupons to the user and a non-transitory storage medium including a first database of information relating to the user collected from the user interface and further including a second database of coupons. The system also includes a coupon engine to: aggregate coupons from different sources, normalize the coupons into a common coupon data format, and store the coupons in the second database of the non-transitory storage medium. The system further includes an offer engine to analyze the coupons in the second database based in part on the collected information in the first database relating to the user to create a set of coupons for the user. An example of a method for presenting personalized coupon offers is also disclosed.

Abstract:

A suntanning apparatus comprises a plurality of chairs preferably of the lounge type which are mounted on a rotating platform which follows the sun's path. The platform rotates in accordance with a predetermined program and can vary in size to accommodate a predetermined plurality of lounge chairs. The platform is driven by a motor which is coupled to the platform to rotate the platform about a central axis. The motor is coupled to a computer which determines the movement of the platform so that the chairs are always facing towards the sun. In an alternate embodiment, a pair of lounge chairs are mounted on a rotatable platform with controls mounted therebetween for individuals to operate the drive motor to rotate the platform in accordance with the sun's rays.

A rigid puncture-proof sterilizable shield or guard device and method of use for stylet-type stainless steel needles, functioning preferably in two ways: 1) to protect the user from inadvertent needle sticks when placing the stylet back in the needle hub, and 2) to serve as a needle depth guide insuring exact placement of the needle into the desired body space. Abstract:

One aspect of the invention provides a computer-implemented method for diagnosing a condition. The computer-implemented method includes: (a) receiving one or more inputs regarding a subject's symptoms; (b) updating a plurality of models in parallel based on the one or more inputs, each model generating a numerical score reflecting a likelihood of one of a plurality of conditions; (c) identifying one or more most-likely conditions as a function of the numerical scores produced by the models; (d) requesting additional input based on the most-likely conditions; (e) receiving the additional input; (f) updating the models in parallel based on the additional input; (g) comparing updated numerical scores or a difference between sequenced updated numerical scores to a stored confidence threshold; and (h) repeating steps (c)-(g) until the compared numerical scores or the difference between sequenced numerical scores exceeds the stored confidence threshold.

Abstract:

Automated camera-based optical assessment involves color assessment of a physical object using conventional and inexpensive computer hardware such as a smartphone. A specially-configured test card includes a body supporting a reagent pad configured to change to an expected color in response to an enzymatic reaction, and an imaging key adjacent the reagent pad. The imaging key includes color fields including at least one field of the expected color. The hardware captures an image of the test card, and processes the image to identify the reagent pad and color fields, to process a brightness calibration target, to determine color values for the reagent pad and color fields, to calibrate the color values as a function of brightness and/or color by comparison to the brightness and color calibration targets, and to identify a color field most closely matching the reagent pad's color to determine a corresponding test result.
