Abstract:

The invention is directed to methods for de-serializing data from a software system, such as an enterprise software system, upon request. For example, methods are described for converting a data description language, such as the extensible markup language (XML), representation of data from an enterprise software system to an object when requested by a software application. A computing device connected to the enterprise software system loads multidimensional data via an XML data stream. The XML data is de-serialized to create objects as the objects are requested by software applications executing on the computing device. The remaining XML data may be stored on the computing device until the corresponding objects are requested by the software applications.

Abstract:

A business intelligence system includes a business intelligence server configured to support generation of a report user interface for presentation of enterprise data to end users of the business intelligence system and an authoring user interface for development of a report definition of the report user interface. The business intelligence system further includes a metadata repository in which metadata indicative of the report definition is stored, a client having a browser for communication with the business intelligence server and for rendering of the authoring user interface, and a change management server configured for communication with the business intelligence server to manage the development of the report definition via the authoring user interface. The business intelligence server is configured with first textual instructions to direct the browser in the rendering of the authoring user interface, and the browser is further directed by second textual instructions referenced by the first textual instructions and configured to modify the authoring user interface to allow the change management server to manage storage of the metadata indicative of the report definition.

Abstract:

The invention comprises a bio-compatible composition suitable for constructing surgical articles for the repair or replacement of a part of the body of a human or non-human animal, e. g. , ligaments, tendons, bones, comprising a composite of a bio-absorbable polymer and at least one substrate of a plurality of carbon fibers. The invention also includes surgical articles fabricated from the composites for the repair of damaged tissue, e. g. , tendons, ligaments and bones. The invention includes a method for the formation of the aforesaid composite comprising providing a substrate of the carbon fibers and providing the substrate with a continuous coating of a bio-absorbable polymer. The invention also includes the surgical repair of a damaged body part such as a ligament, tendon or bone comprising surgically affixing to the damaged part the surgical article, the bio-absorbable polymer being absorbed by the body upon formation of the new tissue.
