Abstract:
A web based menu system that allows the users such as buyers and sellers to locate, purchase, and sell goods, items and services easily without any search queries. The knowledge base of the system increases with user interaction at variable levels. The database contains an orderly classification of goods and services throughout. Point-and-click technology can be used to navigate through a series of menus. The system can also respond to voice activation and recognition commands. At the web site, the user first selects a category followed by a selection of makes, items, or services called a Sub-Category that relate to the category. The system responds by displaying a uniform series of menus referred to as a “Fluidity of Taxonomy”. This process repeats until the user reaches the finite end of the menu series. Next, the system completes the interaction based upon if the user is a buyer or a seller.

For buyers, the database is accessed resulting in a list of ads based upon the user's accumulated menu selections. The user can filter and sort the presentation of ads based on various criteria and place requests for instant notification of subsequent new ad placements. Banner ads that are applicable to the buyers' area of interest are also presented by the system. For sellers, an input form for ad placement is presented based upon the user's accumulated menu selections. Sellers can also grow the database based on their menu selections and form input. The system can be used for retreiving any orderly classification of information.
Method And Apparatus For Providing A Common Text Messaging System Within A Software Architecture

US Classification:

Abstract:
A method and system is disclosed for centralizing text message storage and processing in a computer controlled process system. The method minimizes the memory storage requirements overall and also minimizes the memory required to reference a text message within an inter-task message in a multi-tasked software operating system. A Text Reference Method (TRM) defines different formats to reference texts in a single word. These formats flexibly allow for several types of text message handling so that memory is optimized and processing overhead is minimized. The TRM permits partitioning of text databases by type but maintains a central management philosophy in order to reduce duplicate text messages and maintain consistency in text usage. A global standardized access method is presented for use by disparate tasks in a system.
Method And Apparatus For A Common Management Software Systems
An apparatus and method are provided that allows a telecommunications device, such as a switch, to be configured to support multiple communication protocols for the purpose of network management. The telecommunications device is provided with an interface that is adaptable to support a communications protocol selected by a requesting party. The telecommunications device is further provided with a management facility that is capable of handling multiple requests for management activities from multiple requesting parties. The interface translates each received request for management activities from each party into a format understandable by the management facility. In this manner, the telecommunications device avoids having to build or rebuild a party specific management facility for each party seeking to perform network management activities on the telecommunications device.

Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided that allows a party to submit multiple requests for management activities to a telecommunications device in a single submission. The telecommunications device includes a network interface for communicating with the party to allow the party to submit the multiple requests in a single submission. The network interface downloads content for the party to select and downloads a program that aggregates the selections of the party into a suitable data structure. The data structure holds multiple requests for management activities in the telecommunications device and is transmitted to the telecommunications device in a single submission.

Abstract:
A fuel dispenser is provided with a nozzle drying function that prevents the refreezing of melted ice buildup upon subsequent uses of the nozzle. The fuel dispenser comprises a housing including a holster. A fuel dispensing nozzle is configured to mate with a holster. A port is configured to direct air into the holster and onto the nozzle. A controller is configured to control flow of the air through the port. The port may be attached to a blower located inside or outside of the dispenser using tubing. Alternatively, the port may be attached to a compressed air assembly. The compressed air assembly may include a pressure regulator configured to control the amount of air produced. A heater may heat the air flowing to the port. A pressure cap including a plurality of openings may be configured to seal the nozzle when the nozzle is mated with the holster.
