A foam/sealant system in which a sealant material, such as a conventional gel, is introduced into an open cell foam to provide an environmental seal for electrical connections, preferably for electrical connections that are embedded within the foam/sealant system. Sealant materials, such as gels, that require curing can be held in place by the foam while in a liquid state to eliminate difficult and costly filling methods. The gel can be cured either while the foam is located at its final location in connection with the electrical connection point to be protected, or the gel can be pre-cured in the foam and then the composite foam/sealant system can be placed in the appropriate location. Preferably, the foam is placed in the appropriate location such that the electrical connection point is embedded in the foam before the gel is introduced, thereby allowing the gel to cure in connection with the electrical connection or substrate to be protected.

Abstract:
A thread separating finger used in combination with a knife assembly adapted for cutting thread utilized in a sewing machine with said assembly having first and second levers, each lever having first and second end portions and a medial portion therebetween, said first end portion of said second lever defining a first cutting blade portion, first means at said second end portion of said second lever for mounting said second lever for pivotal movement, a link having first and second end portions and a medial portion therebetween, said first end portion of said link defining a second cutting blade portion cooperative with said first cutting blade portion for cutting a thread therebetween upon relative pivoting motion between said link and said second lever, second means pivotally connecting together said medial portions of said link and second lever, and third means pivotally connecting together the first end portion of said first lever and the second end portion of said link whereby motion imparted to the second end portion of said first lever creates said relative pivoting motion between said link and said second lever to cut a thread adapted to be disposed between said first and second cutting blade portions. The thread separating finger moves into the loop of thread ahead of the cutting blades and separates the legs of the loop to insure that only one of the legs will be cut.

Abstract:
A mechanical latch tacking device carried by the toe of the sewing machine presser foot that will allow the operator to produce a relatively short stitch chain at the end of a seam and in a single smooth ergonomical motion cause the chain to be severed and the end of the chain that extends from the needle retained in a location where the next workpiece is started the retained chain will be sewn into the seam.

Abstract:
An automatic button feeder is disclosed including a lifting mechanism arranged for facilitating disengagement of the orientating mechanism associated therewith. The lifting mechanism includes a slideably supported member means which is connected to the orientating mechanism of the button feeder by means of a curved leaf spring. An actuator, which is responsive to movement of the button clamp lifting mechanism, moves the slideable member, and thus the orientating mechanism connected thereto, whereby facilitating disengagement of the latter in timed relation to the sewing cycle.

Abstract:
A button clamp assembly having an unalterable pivot and provided with interchangeable turret assemblies which cooperate with other universal assemblies in controlling the planar displacement of the articles being delivered to the machine's sewing station. The interchangeable assemblies are mounted in a manner permitting a consistent clamping relationship to be maintained between the turret assembly and the machine's work support regardless of the article's thickness or ligne/diameter.
Force is delivered from a looper drive crank to a nut and bolt assembly having clamped thereto the inner races of first and second bearing sets. A spacer separates the bearing sets. The outer races of the bearing sets are press fit into the bore of a housing from which force is transmitted to a looper link.
