A system to assist a skier in locating an unattached ski in powder snow after a fall includes an audible alarm member which is mounted on the ski, and a remote hand-held activator member held by the skier. The skier can trigger the alarm by operating a switch on the remote activator. The sound emitted by the alarm will allow the skier to locate the direction and position of the lost ski.

Abstract:
An acoustical bass absorber which reduces peak and dip frequency response errors caused by interference from naturally occurring axial standing waves in rectangular rooms. The apparatus uses two forms of simple harmonic resonance: pistonic diaphragm resonance and Helmholtz cavity resonance. The pistonic diaphragm resonance is achieved by attaching a rigid planar membrane to metal springs. The Helmholtz cavity resonance is achieved by constructing an enclosed chamber attached to an open cylindrical tube. Coupling these two dissipation devices leads to several-fold improvement in absorption and total room mode attenuation.
Method For Performance Measurement And Optimization Of Sound Systems Using A Sliding Band Integration Curve
A method for performance measurement and optimization of sound systems using electroacoustic measurements and a sliding band integration curve. Nearfield and spatially and temporally averaged broadband farfield responses are measured, averaged over a distinct set of frequencies, level matched, and weighted using a frequency-dependent ratio. The two curves are then combined to produce a third curve. The results indicate system performance in a listening space that matches human sensory response and provides means to optimize the sound system for the listening space.
An automatic LFE audio signal derivation processor incorporating signal measurement functions, signal filtering functions, signal limiting/compressing functions, signal gain adjusting functions, and operating indication functions, for use with multichannel soundtracks. Audio input signals are fed to the processor and split for processing in three blocks, including a detector, which analyzes the low frequency content of the incoming signal and controls each of two subsequent blocks, a variable low frequency shelving network in which the amount of low frequency attenuation is variable and which responds to a control signal from the detector, and a variable gain amplifier in which the gain responds to the control signal from the detector circuit.
Integrated Loudspeaker And Acoustic Treatment System
A loudspeaker and acoustic treatment system including at least one loudspeaker physically incorporated into at least one acoustic treatment panel, and dispersion pattern control means preset in a standard configuration.
A ceiling-mounted speaker system which employs directional-radiating electro-acoustic transducer arrays which aim sound waves at suitable surfaces in the room, whereby the sound is perceived as coming from a location matching a screen location. Pattern control of the sound radiation provided by signal delay within array columns and rows enhances sound clarity.
