Abstract:
An infusion pump (e.g., an electrokinetic infusion pump) includes an infusion pump module and an engine that can drive a moveable piston non-mechanically. In addition, the infusion pump module includes a position detector configured for sensing a dispensing state of the infusion pump module. Such information can be utilized in a control scheme to control fluid displacement within and out of the pump. Descriptions of different types of position detectors, such as magnetic sensors (e.g., an anisotropic magnetic resistive sensor), and their implementation in detecting infusion pump fluid displacement are described.

Abstract:
The invention relates to micropumps for infusing fluids. More specifically, the present disclosure describes and illustrates a micropump design that may be useful for infusing insulin into a diabetic patient. The disclosed design employs a pump chamber that has a diaphragm and a plurality of check valves that are configured to avoid leakage from the reservoir through the pump engine and into an infusion device and, also, to ensure the complete, accurate evacuation of the pump chamber.

Abstract:
Systems and methods for cloud management are disclosed. For example, one disclosed method includes the steps of receiving access information for a cloud service provider; receiving configuration information for a cloud instance; receiving a command to create the cloud instance; requesting and receiving a node from the cloud service provider; causing the node to be configured as a cloud node, comprising causing a software package to be installed and configured on the cloud node; configuring the cloud instance and incorporating the node into the cloud instance; and providing access to the cloud instance.
One exemplary embodiment involves transmitting a request to a distributed resource system to provide, from a server computer device associated with the distributed computing resource system, network content to a requesting device, the server computer device being located at a geographic location that corresponds to a location of the requesting device. The embodiment further involves measuring at least one of a plurality of performance metrics associated with providing the network content and determining whether to auto scale a plurality of resources associated with the server computer device based at least in part on the at least one of the performance metrics. Additionally, the embodiment involves transmitting a request to the distributed computing resource system to auto scale the resources, responsive to the determination to auto scale the resources associated with the server device.

Abstract:
A dual coating is provided for tinting a plastic material such that the plastic material is tinted and rendered scratch resistant. Also provided is tintable, scratch resistant plastic materials and tinted, scratch resistant plastic materials. The dual layer coating includes a dye reservoir layer formed over a surface of the material to be tinted and a hard coating layer formed over the dye reservoir layer. The dye reservoir layer includes between about fifteen and eighty percent by weight of a flexible acrylated oligomer or acrylated oligomer/acrylate monomer blend resin, and between about one and seventy percent by weight of a mono vinyl functional reactive diluent. The hard coating layer formed over the dye reservoir layer includes between about twenty and one hundred percent by weight of alkane polyols, the alkane polyols containing up to about forty eight carbon atoms and at least three O-acryloyl(polyalkylene oxide)! groups, each polyalkylene oxide chain including between about one and twenty alkylene oxide groups, and between about ten and seventy percent by weight of polyacryloylated alkane polyols, the alkane polyols containing up to about twenty four carbon atoms and at least about two O-acryloyl groups.

Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for depositing a dielectric layer to fill in a gap between adjacent metal lines. In preferred embodiments of the method, a first dielectric layer is deposited over the lines and subsequently etched using both chemical and physical etchback steps. After the etchback steps are completed, a second dielectric layer is deposited over the first dielectric layer to fill in the gap.

Abstract:
An abrasion resistant, radiation or heat curable dual composition is applied to a polymer substrate, such as an opthamlic lens. An abrasion enhancement layer is deposited on a surface of the substrate. The abrasion enhancement layer has a modulus of M. sub. 1 and a Shore A value of 50 or less. A top coating is deposited on the abrasion enhancement layer. It has a modulus of M. sub. 2 that is greater than M. sub. 1. The top coating has an abrasion resistance Bayer Haze Gain ratio of 1. 0 or greater.
