Abstract:

A knife having a thin handle and a window breaker is disclosed. The handle comprises a frame and a cover. The frame has an arch and a threaded bore for supporting the window breaker is at least partially located within the arch. The cover has a support wall into which the arch fits. The threaded bore has a diameter sufficiently large that the structural integrity of the arch may be compromised without support from the support wall when the window breaker is screwed in and used.

Abstract:

A field-strippable folding knife which can be disassembled without special tools is disclosed. The knife has a blade a tang, and a handle. The handle comprises a male handle portion and a female handle portion which can be joined together. The tang may have two stops. The stops are engaged by a blade locking system to fix the blade in an open position and a closed position.

Abstract:

A slide knife with a blade stop structure is disclosed. The knife comprises a blade, an actuator, and a handle. The handle comprises a frame and a cover. The blade has a blade pin. The cover comprises an extended stop with an interior surface and/or a stop boss that engages the blade pin. The actuator also comprises a front catch which may engage the blade pin. The blade stop structure can absorb the force imparted by continual striking of the blade pin without distortion of the knife.

Abstract:

An out-the-front switchblade includes a first longitudinal rail and a second longitudinal rail radially separated from and substantially parallel to the first longitudinal rail. Each of the first and second longitudinal rails has a front end opposed to a rear end. A blade having a cutting edge has a retracted position in which the cutting edge is between the first and second longitudinal rails and a deployed position in which the cutting edge is not between the first and second longitudinal rails. Abstract:

A suppressor for a firearm includes a casing having a front end and defining a longitudinal axis. A first plurality of baffles are inside the casing, and a front cap is downstream from the first plurality of baffles at the front end of the casing. A first retainer is connected to the casing and disposed between the first plurality of baffles and the front cap. The first retainer has an upstream surface and a downstream surface, and the first plurality of baffles, the front cap, and the first retainer define a fluid pathway along the longitudinal axis. A contoured wall extends axially upstream from the upstream surface of the first retainer and defines a plurality of damping wells in the upstream surface of the first retainer radially disposed from the fluid pathway and circumferentially separated by the plurality of apertures. The downstream surface of the first retainer is symmetrical with the upstream surface.

Abstract:

A switchblade includes a casing that defines a cavity and a blade having a cutting edge. The blade has a retracted position in which the cutting edge is inside the cavity and a deployed position in which the cutting edge is outside of the cavity. A spring is operably connected to the blade to bias the blade to the deployed position. An actuator extends through at least a portion of the casing and has a hold position that engages with the blade to prevent movement of the blade with respect to the casing and a release position that permits movement of the blade with respect to the casing. A safety is operably connected to the actuator and has a lock position that prevents operation of the actuator and an unlock position that permits operation of the actuator.

Abstract:

A clip assembly for use in combination with a knife includes a housing; an elongated clip that is sized and configured for congruent receipt in the housing, the elongated clip having a proximal end and a distal end, and the elongated clip being securable to the housing by at least one clip pivot being located in a through hole near the proximal end of the elongated clip and extending the width of the elongated clip; a button spring held against the elongated clip for biasing the elongated clip toward a resting position, and the elongated clip being operational between the resting position and an open position by depressing the distal end of the elongated clip thereby causing the proximal end to pivotally rise; and first and second oppositely disposed access recesses on the housing each being sized and configured for permitting access to the at least one clip pivot when the elongated clip is in the open position for selective removal of the at least one clip pivot, the button spring and the elongated clip.
