Abstract:

The emergency underwater notification device disclosed, one of which would be carried by each diver on a team of divers at a dive site, comprises (a) an activator; (b) one or more primary signal emitters, each of which emits a primary notification signal upon activation of the activator, the primary signal emitter comprising one or more of the following: a light source, a hydrophone, a siren, a speaker, or an acoustic transducer; (c) one or more secondary signal emitters, each of the secondary signal emitters emitting a secondary communication signal upon activation of the activator; (d) a receiver capable of receiving communication signals; (e) one or more tertiary signal emitters, each of the tertiary signal emitters to emit a tertiary communication signal upon receipt by the receiver of either a secondary communication signal or a tertiary communication signal from another notification device; and (f) one or more quaternary signal emitters, each of the quaternary signal emitters to emit a quaternary notification signal upon receipt by the receiver of either a secondary communication signal or a tertiary communication signal from another notification device, the quaternary signal emitter comprising one or more of the following: a light source, a hydrophone, a siren, a speaker, or an acoustic transducer.

Abstract:

A Manually Agitated Underwater Signaling Device used for SCUBA divers, snorkelers and other water-sport enthusiasts. The Manually Agitated Underwater Signaling Device includes a water tight right circular cylindrical body containing one or more rigid spheres inside, an integrated slot for the connection of a lanyard to one end of the right circular cylindrical body and a spherical base integrated into the other end of the right circular cylindrical body. The right circular cylindrical body is comprised of two body halves, a right half and a left half. The right half includes a tongue ridge with an energy director around the perimeter forming a mating surface. The left half includes a recessed groove around its perimeter forming a mating surface that intersects with the right half when aligned together. The Manually Agitated Underwater Signaling Device includes an exterior surface texture to improve the grip. A lanyard will be attached to the device through the integrated lanyard slot to help maintain a secure hold on the device when in use.

Abstract:

A system for characterizing malicious activity in an intelligent utility grid system includes a system storage in which to store a database including a plurality of rules. A collector is operable to collect and store in the system storage information-technology (IT) data including IT-related activity from the intelligent grid system. A complex event processing (CEP) bus is operable to receive non-IT data including location-specific event data from a plurality of electronic sources, the CEP bus further operable to disregard the non-IT data failing to meet a predetermined level of relevance to one of a plurality of risk-related events. A processor is operable to apply the plurality of rules to the relevant non-IT data to: associate an undesired event with reference to the IT-related activity; and determine a probability that the undesired event is indicative of malicious activity. The processor further applies a risk characterization to the undesired event based on the probability and the IT-related activity.
