A night vision system for a vehicle includes a first light source for illuminating a region proximate the vehicle, the light source generating a first night vision pulse signal. The system further includes a light sensor receiving a second night vision pulse signal from an approaching vehicle, wherein the second night vision pulse blinds the first night vision pulse signal. A controller shifts pulses from the first night vision pulse signal in a different direction than pulses from the second night vision pulse signal until an anti-blinding of the first night vision pulse signal by the second night vision pulse signal is achieved.

A host vehicle system includes a lane change system providing an indication to the host vehicle a target vehicle entering a destination lane. The system includes arrays of magneto-resistive sensors on both sides of the vehicle receiving proximity information as a function of magnetic field variations, a vehicle bus receiving various vehicle control signals, a smart algorithm controller analyzing bus signals and sensor signals, and various vehicle collision systems such as passive restraints, optical light guides, and audible warnings operating in response to a threat from a target vehicle.

Abstract:
An imaging system for a vehicle is provided. The system includes an image sensor generating a plurality of image frames, and a controller coupled to the image sensor. The controller is programmed to detect an obstructed image frame from the plurality of image frames. The obstruction corresponds to a windshield wiper of the vehicle. In response to detecting an obstructed image, the controller optimizes the obstructed image for display or use by a vehicle system. The controller detects an obstructed image by at least one of object sensing confirmation, edge detection, negative shift detection or headlight illumination detection.
Trailer Oscillation Detection And Compensation Method For A Vehicle And Trailer Combination
A system and method of controlling a vehicle with a trailer comprises determining the presence of a trailer, generating an oscillation signal indicative of trailer swaying relative to the vehicle, generating an initial weighted dynamic control signal for a vehicle dynamic control system in response to the oscillation signal, operating at least one vehicle dynamic system according to the dynamic control signal, and thereafter, iteratively generating a penalty function for the weighted dynamic control signal as a function of the oscillation signal response. A neural network with an associated trainer modifies the dynamic control signal as a function of trailer sway response.

Abstract:
A vehicle including a center high mount stop lamp (CHMSL). The vehicle includes a vehicle body panel formed of a light emitting material of a predetermined color, including a first surface area, and coated with a paint of a predetermined color. A CHMSL housing may be mounted on one side of the vehicle body panel, and one or more light sources may be disposable adjacent or within the CHMSL housing for emitting light through a second surface area of the vehicle body panel when the light source is turned on, with the second surface area being smaller than the first surface area.
