An apparatus for locking a valve having a valve member movable between an open position and a closed position. The apparatus includes an actuator assembly, a locking base, a locking shaft, and a locking pin. The actuator assembly moves the valve member between the open position and the closed position. The locking base has a through-bore extending from the lower portion to an upper portion, a first thread provided on the upper portion, and a first locking bore extending transversely therethrough. The locking shaft reciprocally extends through the through-bore of the locking base and includes an upper end having a second thread that is selectively engagable with the first thread of the locking base when the valve member is in a predetermined position, and a second locking bore extending transversely through the locking shaft. The locking pin has a shackle bore configured and dimensioned to receive the shackle of a lock, wherein the locking pin is receivable through the first and second locking bores when the valve member is in as predetermined position and the first and second locking bores are aligned for locking the valve member in the predetermined position. A method of using the apparatus for locking a valve is also disclosed.
A pendulum gate valve includes a housing defining a valve chamber, the valve housing having a vacuum-chamber opening in a front wall and an access opening in a rear wall aligned with the vacuum-chamber opening and defining a through-hole extending from one side of the valve housing to the other side for providing access to the vacuum chamber, a carriage assembly pivotally mounted within the valve housing and moveable between a open position remote from the openings and a closed position between the openings, a valve plate reciprocally mounted on one side of the carriage assembly and movable between an unsealed position spaced from the vacuum-chamber opening and a sealed position sealing the vacuum-chamber opening, a valve-plate actuator carried on the carriage assembly for moving the valve gate between the unsealed and sealed positions, a retractable support reciprocally mounted on another side of the carriage assembly movable between a retracted position spaced from the access opening and an extended position engaging the valve housing adjacent the access opening, and a retractable-support actuator carried on the carriage assembly for moving the valve support between the retracted and support positions. Preferably, the valve-plate and retractable-support actuators are fluid actuators. A method of using the pendulum gate valve is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A gate valve including a valve housing defining a valve chamber having an opening therethrough along a flow path, a gate support supported within the valve housing between a closed position in the flow path, an open position outside of the flow path, and a service position extending out of the valve housing, and a dual actuator assembly having a service piston assembly having a service piston reciprocable within the valve housing, and an inner piston assembly having an inner piston reciprocable within the service piston assembly. The gate support is configured to reciprocate with the inner piston between the closed and open positions, and with the service piston between the closed and the service positions. A method of using the gate valve is also disclosed.
A gate valve includes a housing, a gate support positioned within the housing, a gate connected to the gate support, and first and second actuators that control movement of the gate support and gate. The housing defines a valve chamber having first and second aligned openings for passage of air between first and second housing side walls. The gate support is reciprocable between a first support position remote from said openings and a second support position between said openings. The gate is transversely reciprocable between a first gate position spaced from said openings and a second gate position sealing off the first opening. The actuators move the gate support between first and second support positions and move the gate between first and second gate positions. The gate support is spaced apart from the second side wall of the housing when the gate is in the first and second gate positions.
An angle valve including a valve housing defining a valve chamber and having a valve opening, a driveshaft reciprocally extending into the valve chamber through a driveshaft opening, a boss extending downwardly from a top wall of the valve chamber around the driveshaft, and a bellows having a lower end mounted to the boss and an upper end mounted to the driveshaft so as to isolate the driveshaft and the driveshaft opening from the valve chamber. A method of using the gate valve is also disclosed.
A quick release clamp mechanism (10) including a pair of slide lock plates (12, 14) for engaging a series of guide screws (32) extending down from a bonnet or end plate (16) and through openings in a valve body flange (18). Toggle clamps (40) releasably engage one of the guide screws (32') and thereby can slide the slide lock plates (12, 14) by pivoting of a toggle lever (76). Sliding of slide lock plates (12, 14) causes a neck down region of openings (34) in plates (12, 14) to capture the heads of guide screws (32) and clamp bonnet plate (16) to valve body flange (18).
