A light fixture support is provided comprising a support bar having slots at the extremities which cooperate with inverted "T" members forming the framework for a conventional suspended ceiling to adjustably locate and secure a light fixture within the framework. The slot configuration defined by the light fixture support permits the enlarged extremity of the upstanding portion of the "T" member to be rotated for insertion within the slot, returned to a vertical position, and retained within the slot. If desired, an adjustable support may be provided for accommodating a variety of "T" member spacings or for compact packaging with a light fixture.
Method And Apparatus For Rigidly Interconnected Ceiling And Wall Construction
In one exemplar embodiment, a construction hanger for rigidly interconnecting ceiling inverted tee support members and a structural wall channel member is provided, the hanger having a generally U-shaped configuration with a body member and extending depending legs spaced to receive the channel member. The legs are bendable to engage the channel member and securely grip and support the member. In one embodiment, a generally U-shaped gripping means is provided for gripping the inverted tee support member having bendable tabs extending from a generally flat base, the tabs spaced to receive the tee support member and bendable over the flanges of the member to grip it securely. The U-shaped gripping means is pivotally attached to the body member of the hanger. In another embodiment a pre-formed gripping means is provided having opposing spring clamping members, one spring clamping member having edges depending therefrom which engages one flange of the tee support member to prevent movement along the member and a second spring clamping member just long enough to engage the tee support member and having a plurality of teeth to prevent movement after engaging the other flange of the tee support member. A novel wall structure and method of wall construction utilizing the hanger is also disclosed.

Abstract:
A conduit support bracket useful in supporting conduit, cable, piping or the like, especially above a dropped ceiling is disclosed. The conduit support bracket comprises a strip of rigid material having engaging means extending from one end to securely engage a T-bar, fixture or other support structure. This engaging means is preferably provided by a plurality of prongs bent and rebent in oppositely inclined directions. The conduit support bracket further comprises a plurality of deformable tabs extending from the opposite end of the rigid strip. At least one of these deformable tabs is shaped to form a channel between itself and the remaining tabs. This channel is of sufficient size and strength to support the conduit or the like. The remaining deformable tabs are of sufficient length to securely hold the conduit in place when deformed, preferably manually, at least partially around the conduit.
There are disclosed two embodiments of a renovated ceiling system of the type in which acoustical tiles are suspended in side-by-side relation by a grid of inverted tee-shaped hangers, each such embodiment including a lower level of acoustical tiles suspended from the hangers of the existing ceiling system by means of parts which are snapped into releasable attachment to the hangers as well as to one another merely in response to lifting of the parts from below.
In one exemplary embodiment, a construction clip for rigidly interconnecting and uniformly spacing a pair of ceiling inverted-tee support members defining an air conditioning air-slot through the ceiling is provided. Further, the clip provides support for the air conditioning ducts which carry air from the main air conditioning ducts to the air-slot. The clip, which is preferably formed of a high grade spring steel, includes an elongated body member having at each extremity a pair of legs extending normally upward from the body member and into a generally U-shaped configuration for securely gripping the vertical portion of the inverted-tee support members. The extremities of each leg are inwardly bent to form clasping hook ends for tightly gripping the tee member vertical portion in a sliding relation. Each pair of legs defines a slot therebetween which extends from the body member to the extremities of the legs to enable the clip to be positioned over intersecting tee members.
