Abstract:

The present invention provides an automated solution for generating a question document and an answer document from a database of questions and answers. The solution utilizes an extensible markup language to define the database. The database is then converted into a first Document Object Model (DOM) tree. The first DOM tree may then be used in prompting a user to enter the number of questions from each section to be generated. Once this input is received, nodes from the first DOM tree are randomly selected using the data received from the input. These randomly selected nodes are then used to create a second DOM tree representing the quiz or test. This second DOM tree may then be converted to a readable or printable format using a transformation, such as an stylesheet language transformation.

Abstract:

An invention is provided for creating a test summary report. A test application is executed on a platform, where the test application is executed using a status utility having functions that generates XML code. The test results are generated in a XML enabled format using the status utility, and are output to a test execution log file. The test execution log file is processed to generate a well-formed XML test reports file, which is then logically arranged to create a logically arranged XML test reports file. The logically arranged XML test reports file is converted into a HTML test summary report.

Abstract:

The monitoring of the performance of computer code may be accomplished by inserting starting and ending hooks in the computer code, the hooks indicating the start or end of a group, feature, or subfeature. These hooks may gather the time at which they are executed, and these values may be appended to an extensible markup language file. This file may then be utilized to gauge the performance of various portions of the computer code.

Methods and systems consistent with the present invention provide for testing a protocol for transmitting data between a first device and a second device. The first device sends a set of data to both a data controller and the second device. The data controller receives the set of data sent by the first device. The second device also receives the set of data sent by the first device. The second device then sends the data received from the first device to the data controller. The data controller sends the set of data received from the first device to a data comparator. The data controller then sends the set of data received from the second device to the data comparator. Abstract:

Methods and apparatus are described for collecting and storing large volumes of time series data. For example, such data may comprise metrics gathered from one or more large-scale computing clusters over time. Data are gathered from resources which define aspects of interest in the clusters, such as nodes serving web traffic. The time series data are aggregated into sampling intervals, which measure data points from a resource at successive periods of time. These data points are organized in a database according to the resource and sampling interval. Profiles may also be used to further organize data by the types of metrics gathered. Data are kept in the database during a retention period, after which they may be purged. Each sampling interval may define a different retention period, allowing operating records to stretch far back in time while respecting storage constraints.
