Abstract:

System and method for locating resistive faults and interconnect errors between the conductors of a cable such as a telephone cable. An alternating magnetic field is applied to the cable at successive points along the same and the signal produced by the induced voltage is monitored at one end of the cable. With a resistive fault or an interconnect error, the signal at the end of the cable is discernibly greater when the magnetic field is applied between the sensor and the fault than when the field is applied beyond the fault. In either case, the location of the fault is indicated by the change in the sensor signal as the field is applied at points on opposite sides of the fault. The signal information is communicated to the person who is applying the magnetic field to the cable for use by him in locating the fault.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, there is disclosed a modular, blast resistant suspension module for an armored vehicle. Each suspension module has a first and second axle assembly. The first axle assembly has a Short-Long Arm (SLA) suspension system pivotally connected to a blast resistant differential housing and the second axle assembly has a Road Arm (RA) suspension system pivotally connected to the differential housing. The suspension modules may be used to form 4×4 or 8×8 vehicle configurations.

Abstract:

In one embodiment, there is disclosed a blast mitigating differential housing for a vehicle, comprised of a first wall and a second wall in opposed spaced apart relation to each other. The first and second walls are separated by first and second side walls extending there between to define an inner space and an exterior surface. The side walls may be declined toward each other in a V shape. One of the first and second walls is equipped with an aperture to accommodate a vehicle drive line. The side walls are equipped with opposed apertures to accommodate the drive shafts and/or vehicle axles. The side walls may be further equipped with mounting structures along the exterior to accommodate a vehicle suspension system and/or steering elements. The inner space defined by the walls has a surface equipped for at least one vehicle differential mount.
