The special session was held Thursday at the Detroit Regional Chamber office to address the RTAs proposed master plan, drawing more than 120 people, including Wayne Mayor Susan Rowe, state Sen. Bert Johnson, D-Highland Park.
The bills received backing from Metro Detroit senators including Bert Johnson of Highland Park, Virgil Smith of Detroit and David Knezek of Dearborn Heights. Most of the bills were approved on 21-16 votes.
