Abstract:Successive rows of individual pile yarn tufts are secured to a backing fabric with the aid of a pile forming guide designed for assisting in obtaining a more uniform pile spacing and pile height. The pile yarn is threaded onto a needle and each individual pile yarn tuft is individually secured to the backing fabric by penetrating the backing fabric with the pile yarn and securing the same thereto by forming a knot.
