Abstract:
A phase interpolation system includes an input stage that provides first and second modulated input signals having selected first and second relative phase angles. A weighting system is configured to steer a first portion of the first modulated input signal to an output and a second portion of the first modulated input signal to an internal balancing node. The weighting system also is configured to steer a first portion of the second modulated input signal to the output and a second portion of the second modulated input signal to the balancing node. The first portion of the first and second modulated input signals are summed at the output to provide an interpolated output signal having a phase angle that is between the first and second phase angles.
System And Method For Detecting Motion Of An Object
Systems and methods are disclosed to for detecting movement of an object. In one embodiment, a system is disclosed to detect movement of an object (e. g. , a tire). The system includes a sensor that is operative to sense at least a pressure condition within an enclosed space of the object based on an operating mode of the system. A control system controls the operating mode of the system based at least in part on whether movement of the object is detected. The movement of the object is detected based on a variation in the at least a pressure condition over time. The system can be implemented as part of a tire pressure monitoring system.
System and method for integrated circuit manufacturing. A preferred embodiment comprises transmitting a first set of data to integrated circuits (ICs) while they are in an on-wafer state and having each IC store the first set of data into memory, transmitting a second set of data to the ICs and having the ICs compare the second set of data with the first set of data stored in the memory, reading out the results of the comparisons, and marking an IC as being defective if the comparison indicates that that the first set of data did not match the second set of data. Each IC features an antenna formed in the scribe line region adjacent to the IC so that communications can take place while the IC remains on the wafer without the need to use electrical probes.
System and method for disabling a RFID tag. A preferred embodiment comprises attenuating a signal received at an antenna of the RFID tag based upon a status of the RFID tag and responding to an instruction in the received signal if the attenuated signal is detectable. The attenuation of the received signal requires that the received signal have a signal strength greater than a specified threshold in order for the instruction in the received signal to be detectable. This means that for a given signal transmit power, the RFID tag must be within a certain distance from a RFID reader attempting to retrieve information from the RFID tag. By setting the attenuation amount at a sufficiently high level, the method ensures that the RFID reader must be substantially adjacent to the RFID tag, preventing the unintended retrieval of unique identification information by RFID readers remotely located from the RFID tag.
Simultaneous Gm-C Filter And Variable Gain Amplifier Circuit
A system and method are provided for reducing the current consumption of receivers such as direct conversion receivers associated with modem receiver systems as well as low IF receiver systems, among others. The system and method dramatically reduce the current consumption in receivers due to three factors. 1) Since the filter also performs the VGA function, the current consumption of the VGA is eliminated; 2) Since the gain partitioning of the structure depicted in FIG. is superior, the noise performance of the filter is greatly reduced; and the base band LNA can be eliminated, also eliminating the current consumption of the base band LNA ; and 3) The folded gstructure depicted in FIG. can be used, cutting the current consumption of the base band filter by a factor of two. The structure notably does require control circuitry to set the gvalues of the forward and feedback paths independently. The current consumption of this control circuitry however, is far less than the current saved due to the three factors discussed herein above. The base band circuitry current consumption can be reduced by about a factor or three by implementing the structure
System And Method To Facilitate Idetifying Location Of A Remote Module
Systems and methods are disclosed to facilitate identification of a tire pressure sensing module in a tire pressure monitoring system. In one embodiment, a tire pressure sensing module includes a receive detector coupled to monitor a radio-frequency signal received by an antenna. The receive detector provides a detection signal if the received signal has at least a predetermined amplitude. The module also includes at least one sensor operative to sense a condition associated with a tire. A transmitter is coupled to provide a transmit signal via the antenna. A control system controls the transmitter to transmit the transmit signal to include at least the identifying data in response to the detection signal.

Abstract:
In described examples, a ring oscillator includes a series of N stages in a first ring. Each stage includes a respective output terminal coupled to a respective input terminal of a next one of the stages in the first ring. N is a positive odd-numbered integer of at least three. A series of N level shifters in a second ring are respectively connected to the N stages. Each level shifter receives a respective clock output from a respective output terminal of a stage to which it is connected and generates a respective boosted clock output in response thereto. The boosted clock output is coupled to control an impedance state of a next one of the level shifters in the second ring.

Described examples include an integrated circuit including a receive portion to receive an encoded transmission on a line. The receive portion has: a wake mode in which the receiver is capable of receiving the encoded transmission; and a sleep mode in which the receiver is not capable of receiving the encoded transmission. A wakeup controller monitors the line for a wakeup signal and provides a signal to the receive portion to cause the receive portion to enter the wake mode when the wakeup controller receives the wakeup signal.
