Abstract:

A high repetition rate, compact, modular gas discharge, ultraviolet laser. The laser is useful as a light source for very rapid inspections of wafers in an integrated circuit fabrication process. It is also useful for reticle writing at very rapid rates. A preferred embodiment operates at pulse repetition rates of 1000 to 4000 Hz and is designed for round-the-clock production line operation. This preferred embodiment comprises a pulse control unit which controls the timing of pulses to an accuracy of less than 4 nanoseconds. Preferred embodiments of this gas discharge laser can be configured to operate with a KrF gas mixture, an ArF gas mixture or an F gas mixture, each with an approximate buffer gas, producing 248 nm, 197 nm or 157 nm ultraviolet light pulses.

Abstract:

Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with imaging systems and wear indicators are provided. In one example system, an imaging device is provided that generates and transfers an image to a print media. A photoconductor includes a photosensitive surface layer and a wear indicator layer under the surface layer. The wear indicator layer is visually distinct from the surface layer so that when the wear indicator layer is exposed, it indicates worn areas of the surface layer.

Abstract:

An imaging device access control for restricting access to internally located parts of the imaging device. In one embodiment of the invention, an imaging device includes an access panel hingedly attached to an imaging housing. Access to an interior of the imaging device through an access panel is controlled by an access panel operation restrictor assembly. The access panel operation restrictor assembly includes an access panel operation restrictor and an access panel restrictor release. The panel operation restrictor may include a locking mechanism having a bolt which is selectively engageable with the access panel by operation of a solenoid. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the access panel operation restrictor assembly is operable from an image forming device control panel. An individual must enter an authorization code or password at the control panel as a precondition to operation of the access panel operation restrictor assembly.

Abstract:

Representative embodiments provide for a security lock apparatus configured to securely couple a sheet handling device in cooperative relationship with an imaging device in response to a first predefined user action, the security lock apparatus further configured to de-couple the sheet handling device from the imaging device in response to a second predefined user action, wherein the security lock apparatus is further configured to be inoperable by unauthorized personnel. The present invention provides a method including supporting a security lock apparatus with an imaging device, performing an authorized predefined locking action coupled to the security lock apparatus, and securely coupling the sheet handling device in cooperative relationship with the imaging device using the lock apparatus in response to the performing the authorized locking action.
