A ball valve comprising a seat having a first opening thereon, a housing over the seat having a second opening defined by a flap having an inner and outer diameter, and a ball in the housing, the ball having a diameter great than the inner diameter of the flap. The seat may be formed directly onto a metal insert of a bonded piston seal, or directly onto a wall of any chamber needing a ball valve therein. The housing may be formed as an extension of a piece of rubber used to seal the periphery of the insert or chamber wall. Hence, the housing and insert or chamber wall may be molded together as part of a unitarily formed chamber and ball valve combination.

Abstract:
An annular seal and method of producing the same wherein the annular seal comprises an annular outer portion comprising an outward facing surface and an inward facing surface; an annular rubber portion having an outer face and an inner face, wherein the outer face of the annular rubber portion is bonded to the inward facing surface of the annular outer portion; and wherein the inner face of the rubber portion comprises a plurality of bulged areas. Preferably, the outer portion comprises polytetrafluoroethylene or perfluoroalkoxy. The bulged areas may be disposed radially inwardly or axially.
Molded Piston Seal And Method Of Producing The Same
A piston seal comprising a piston seal insert having a top side, a bottom side, an outer substantially circular periphery and a central opening defined by an inner substantially circular periphery; an elastomer molded without adhesive over at least the inner periphery or the outer periphery; and wherein the molded elastomer comprises a lip portion extending upwardly and radially away from the piston seal insert.
A method for producing a gasket insert comprising: providing a strip of insert material having a predetermined thickness; providing a pair of rigid parallel surfaces spaced apart by a distance approximately equal to, but greater than, the thickness of the insert material; placing the insert material between the surfaces; and bending the insert material to a desired shape. Also disclosed is a method for producing a gasket comprising: providing a strip of insert material having a predetermined thickness; providing a pair of rigid parallel surfaces spaced apart by a distance approximately equal to, but greater than, thickness of the insert material; placing the insert material between the surfaces; bending the insert material to a desired shape; and molding an elastomeric material to the insert.
