Abstract:

A deep tillage ripper point includes an aggressive long, narrow leading point portion with a top surface that forms a steep angle of approximately 40-50 degrees with the horizontal. An intermediate portion has a top surface and wings extending at a relatively shallow angle of about 15 degrees relative to the horizontal. A centrally located vertical fin having a width of about half the width of the leading point portion and approximately equal to the width of the ripper shank extends upwardly from the leading point portion rearwardly and above the forward edge and forwardly of the leading edges of the wings. Pre-fracturing action of the fin initiates substantial lateral displacement of the soil prior to the soil contacting the wings. The fin reduces violent vertical eruption of the soil when contacted by the wings and provides improved soil profile.

Abstract:

A leveling wheel assembly for a deep tillage ripper tool includes a support bracket fixed to the upper end of the ripper shank and a wheel support arm pivotally connected to the aft end of the bracket. Wheel support structure rotatably mounts a pair of leveling wheels offset several feet behind the ripper point. An adjustable downpressure spring provides an effective moment arm that decreases with spring compression to provide a generally constant downpressure as the wheels move vertically with respect to the shank over a substantial range of ripper depth changes and when large obstacles are encountered. The wheel support structure includes slots for adjusting the spacing of the leveling wheels and the angle of the wheels relative to the forward direction depending on soil conditions.

Abstract:

Attachment structure for converting an integral implement to a pull-type implement includes wheel modules which can be placed at different locations along the frame to avoid interference with tool standards or other hardware. Each module includes both a forward gauge wheel and a rearward transport wheel. The transport wheels are located behind the center of gravity of the implement for stability, and the forwardly located gauge wheels offset the moment resulting from standard draft. A hitch storage jack doubles as a gauge wheel adjustment tool. To maintain the wheels in phase and provide a transport lock-up feature, a simple parallel circuit with pilot operated check valves on the base or lift end of each cylinder is utilized.

Abstract:

Double acting cylinders on wheel lift structures of an agricultural implement are connected in parallel and include pilot operated check valve structure connected to the base ends of the cylinders to maintain timing of the lift wheel structure even under large differential loads without a rockshaft or other mechanical timing device extending between the wheel structures. The check valve structure prevents unwanted cylinder retraction and provides cylinder lock-up for transport without need for additional valves. When pressure is applied to the rod ends of the cylinders, the check valve structure allows fluid to flow from base ends. Orifices are inserted at the base ends of the cylinders to provide optimum breakoff pressure for the check valves.

A machine (20) for voiding playing cards (30) utilizes a card receptacle (22), a feed apparatus (24), and rotary cutting implements (52, 54) to void playing cards (30) at high speed. The card receptacle (22) stacks the playing cards (30) substantially vertically above the feed apparatus (24), and the feed apparatus (24) includes feed belts (40) which repeatedly feed the bottom cards of the stack to the cutting implements (52, 54). Card movers (56, 57) are mounted adjacent to the cutting implements (52, 54) for rotation therewith and grip the cards (30) to move the cards (30) between the cutting implements (52, 54).
