Abstract:

An intake manifold assembly for an internal combustion engine that has a modular construction and includes a base member, a runner, and a shell, wherein the base member removably attaches to the engine, and the runner and the shell each separately and independently removably attach to the base member. In another aspect, the assembly further includes a fastener for attaching the runner to the base member, wherein the shell is formed so as to retain the fastener between the shell and the base member when the shell is attached to the base member. In another aspect, the assembly further includes a bumper affixed to a surface of the base member, wherein the bumper abuts a surface of the internal combustion engine. In another aspect, the base member includes a sealing ridge that mates with a sealing groove provided on the shell.

Abstract:

Variations of a device for collecting viscous fluid from a fluid containing device. Variations include features that protrude into an interior portion and/or from an exterior portion of the device and maximize the surface area of the device exposed to the collected fluid, to enhance cooling and for other purposes. Other variations include both interior and exterior fins or other features as well as convex, concave or bowed side walls. Further, various aspects of the device may be divided into sections arranged to increase the overall surface area of the device exposed to the collected fluid, to enhance cooling and for other purposes. Methods for using the device are also disclosed, including a method that uses the features to cool the collected viscous fluid.

Abstract:

A throttle body fuel distribution assembly includes a throttle body assembly having a throttle body housing and a throttle bore for inducting an airflow, a fuel injector coupled to the throttle body assembly, and a fuel dissemination device for dispersing fuel sprayed by the fuel injector into the airflow through the throttle bore. In one variation, a throttle body fuel distribution assembly includes a throttle valve assembly for controlling the airflow through the throttle bore. In some variations, the fuel spray is diverted in a direction resistive to the direction of the airflow through the throttle bore. In yet another aspect, a throttle body injection system for an internal combustion engine includes a throttle body assembly having an air conduit, an injector assembly coupled to the throttle body assembly, and a fuel deflector for deflecting fuel into the airflow.

Abstract:

A shifter assembly configurable for multiple automatic vehicle transmissions comprises a housing, a base mounted within the housing, a shift handle pivoted to the base, and first and second gate plates selectively mountable to the base in differing configurations cooperatively forming differing shift gates for differing gear shift patterns adapted to differing automatic vehicle transmissions for reverse or forward shift patterns. The base, handle, and gate plates are selectively mountable as a unit within the housing in differing orientations relative to a cable-receiving opening in the housing to facilitate installation within a vehicle with the cable extending from the housing in either a forward or a rearward direction.

A torque converter includes an input connected to an engine. An output is connected with a transmission. A lockup clutch is connected with the output and is disposed to engage the input to couple the input with the output via an apply pressure corresponding to a target lockup strategy based on at least one vehicle operating condition. A pressure regulator is configured to modulate the apply pressure. Systems and methods are disclosed.
