Abstract:

A module incorporating a flash memory and a flash memory controller. The flash memory controller receives data via a first interface which can be a PCMCIA type interface. The data is then stored in the flash memory. The controller is adapted to be able to selectively recall the data from the flash memory and transmit the data to one or more recipient devices via the PCMCIA type interface or by an alternate interface. The module incorporates a user input device that, when manipulated by the user, induces the controller to send the data via the alternate interface. In one embodiment, the alternate interface is comprised of a GSM interface which allows data stored in the flash memory to be transmitted via a cellular telephone to a pre-selected telephone number by the user manipulating the user input device.

A data preservation system for flash memory systems with a host system, the flash memory system receiving a host system power supply and energizing an auxiliary energy store therewith and communicating with the host system via an interface bus, wherein, upon loss of the host system power supply, the flash memory system actively isolates the connection to the host system power supply and isolates the interface bus and employs the supplemental energy store to continue write operations to flash memory.

Abstract:

Devices, systems, and methods herein relate to processing biosignal data. These systems and methods may obtain sensor data from a plurality of electrodes and may also be used to augment cortical function, treat neurological disease, and provide insight and analysis of biological processes and/or clinical therapeutic outcomes. An implantable biosignal processing system may comprise a lead having at least one biosignal sensor configured to transmit biosignal data based on electrophysiological activity of a subject. A first processing system may be coupled to the biosignal sensor and comprise a plurality of analog signal processing circuits configured to be selectively powered based on a selectable treatment mode. A second processing system in communication with the first processing system and may comprise a plurality of digital signal processing circuits configured to be selectively powered based on the treatment mode. A neurostimulator may stimulate tissue according to the set of biosignal characteristics.

Abstract:

A method for estimating output neuron spikes based on input-output spike data that includes input spike data and corresponding output spike data includes formulating, using a controller, a weight value that characterizes plastic properties of a neuron based on the input-output spike data. The method further includes receiving, by the controller, an input spike train. The method further includes estimating, using the controller, an output spike train that corresponds to the input spike train by applying the weight value to a feedforward kernel that estimates the output spike train based on the input spike train and the weight value.
