Abstract:

A base metal repair tape includes a first layer formed braze alloy bonded together with fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene, a second layer formed from powdered base metal bonded together by fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene and a third layer comprising a brazing alloy bonded together by fibrillated polytetrafluoroethylene. This is used to repair base metal by placing the first layer on the base metal and brazing the base metal powder so that the brazing alloy melts and diffuses into the base metal powder bonding it to the surface of the article. This permits the braze powder to be bonded to the base metal surface with minimal distance between the base powder particles. The number of alternating layers of base metal and braze alloy can be increased to increase the thickness of the repair. This can also be used to form small intricate parts.

Abstract:

Corrosion resistant metal, either platinum or MCrAlY is bonded to a corrosion sensitive metal such as nickel based superalloys by coating the surface with the corrosion resistant metal particles held in a binder and covering this with a metalide generating tape. This is then heated to cause the formation of the metalide coating on the metal surface, which in turn, bonds the corrosion resistant metal to the surface.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus include a therapeutic or developmental apparel that includes hardware and/or software for stimulating a muscle. Such apparel may comprise, for instance, of: a glove, a uniform, a shoe, a sock, a vest, a sleeve, a shirt, a hat, a helmet, a brace, a suspender, eye wear, a pad, jewelry, a watch and pants. A muscle of a user may be stimulated by the garment as the user moves, such as a when a golfer practices her swing. Combining such muscle stimulation with the act of practicing the movement of the swing has a synergistic effect of training the muscle as it builds strength. Similarly, a partial paralytic may regain strength in their hand by wearing a vest or other garment configured to transcutaneously deliver a stimulating signal. Where desired, the garment may include at least one electrode configured to deliver a stimulating signal to the wearer. In another or the same embodiment, wired electrodes may extend from the garment or an adjacent signal generator to the wearer.

A system manages a progressive jackpot associated with designated gaming machines. The progressive jackpot is funded from a source of funds, and at a funding rate, independent of the paytables of the associated gaming machines. The system determines whether a player playing the associated gaming machine is eligible for the progressive jackpot using player eligibility rules, and further selects a winning player from among the eligible players (or from the associated gaming machines). The system uses funding rate rules to control the rate at which the progressive jackpot is incremented.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus use resonant pulses to treat diabetes, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and other maladies by applying a stimulating signal to promote and manipulate blood flow. The stimulating signal may include a resonant sequence that includes at least three pulses, where the pulses of the resonant sequence are spaced relative to one another such that each pulse subsequent to a first pulse in the sequence is effective to progressively stimulate and create tension in a musculature that includes the muscle inwardly from the electrodes and towards the center of the musculature while maintaining the tension created in at least a portion of the musculature by each preceding pulse in the resonant sequence.
