International Classification:

US Classification:

Abstract:
The passage of a container along a conveyor is lubricated by applying to at least a portion of the container-contacting surface of the conveyor or to at least a portion of the conveyor-contacting surface of the container a coating comprising a hydrophilic material wherein the lubricating properties of the coating are enhanced by contact with a polar liquid; polymerizing or otherwise solidifying the coating; and contacting the coating with such polar liquid. If desired, the coating can be applied or polymerized on the conveyor or container while the conveyor line is in motion.
A jobsite-applied radiation curable floor finish containing inorganic particles can be applied to a multipiece flooring material whose pieces have a top surface, a side surface or surfaces and gaps between pieces. The top surface is coated and at least the uppermost portion of the gaps are filled with a layer or layers of cured finish composition comprising radiation cured polymer and sufficient inorganic filler particles to impart increased scratch resistance to the cured finish. The finish can also be applied as a strip agent-permeable coating atop a strippable intermediate coating atop a substrate.

Abstract:
A waterborne radiation curable coating composition containing at least one acrylate functional oligomer having a functionality greater than 3 and at least one vinyl ether oligomer having a functionality greater than 1 provides a cured coating resists deep scratches.
Method For Removing An Ultraviolet Light Cured Floor Finish, Removable Ultraviolet Light Curable Floor Finish And Strippable Finished Floor
A UV cured floor finish can be removed from a floor by applying to the cured finish an inhomogeneous stripper composition containing at least one polar solvent, allowing the stripper composition to contact the finish for sufficient time to soften the finish, and removing the softened finish from the floor by mopping, vacuuming, mild abrasion or other measures that do not remove substantial portions of the floor. Preferably the polar solvent is denser than water and preferably the stripper composition has a diffusion rate through the cured finish greater than about 7Ã10 g/cm /sec. Strippable floor finish kits can be manufactured by combining a UV curable floor finish composition and an inhomogeneous stripper composition containing at least one polar solvent.

Abstract:
A pseudo-stable phase-splitting solvent composition that forms a single liquid phase when subjected to mild agitation and retains that single phase while the composition is applied to a surface, but which forms two or more laminar liquid phases promptly after being applied. A concentrated solvent film forms on the surface, under a film containing the other phase. The solvent preferably is denser than water, and the composition preferably is diluted with water. This enables the solvent to attack the surface at near full strength, and provides a water seal over the solvent film. The solvent composition can be used full strength or in diluted form for cleaning, reducing the microbial population of, or degreasing a variety of surfaces, and for stripping a variety of difficult-to-remove coatings from surfaces.
A coated substrate comprises a strippable intermediate coating atop the substrate and a strip agent-permeable waterborne overcoat adhered to the intermediate coating, wherein the dried overcoat is less strippable and more wear-resistant than the dried intermediate coating. When the overcoat eventually becomes worn and must be renewed, a strip agent (e.g., chemical strip agent) can be applied to the overcoat. The strip agent penetrates the overcoat and attacks the intermediate coating, thereby enabling removal of the intermediate coating and overcoat without aggressive removal techniques such as sanding.

Abstract:
A preferred embodiment stackable product packaging includes a first bottle having a base portion and a bottom portion forming a housing. The housing forms a cavity, and the bottom portion forms an opening allowing access to the cavity. The housing and the cavity are configured and arranged to receive and house an upper portion of a second bottle.
