Abstract:

A conversational user interface (CUI) is implemented in a computer by mimicking the organization and retrieval of linguistic memories of human conversation. To mimic the organization of linguistic memories in a human brain, the artificial memories are stored as sequences of patterns, are stored in invariant form, are organized hierarchically, and are recalled auto-associatively. To mimic the recall of linguistic memories in a human brain, the same algorithm performs the recall of the various memories. Each artificial memory is a pairing of the invariant representation and an associated responsive message. When a received utterance is determined to match the invariant representation of a memory, the memory is evoked and the associated responsive message is presented to the person.

Abstract:

Systems, methods, and computer program products for the creation, distribution, and consumption of metacontent are disclosed. An exemplary metacontent show comprises a playing span, a metacontent track within the playing span, and one or more identifiers to one or more corresponding items of network-accessible information being associated with, or embedded within, the metacontent track. The metacontent track comprises at least one of an audio track, a video track, or both, and can take the form of an audiovisual report narrated by an expert guide. The items of network-accessible information can comprise blog postings, online news articles, other types of Webpages accessible over the Internet or similar network, and even components of other metacontent shows. The identifiers facilitate access to their corresponding items of network-accessible information over the Internet or other network, and can comprise uniform resource locators (URLs), uniform resource identifiers (URIs), and/or identifiers.

Abstract:

One or more tracked vehicles with wireless broadband connectivity to a central tracking station provide redundant location data derived from an onboard GPS receiver and an onboard self-triangulating cell phone. Tracking data for bar-coded and RFID-tagged items with the vehicle are also tracked. Clandestine audio monitoring of the vehicle interior and exterior can be enabled from the tracking station or from a remote access device. Redundant rollover sensing and reporting is provided by a roll over switch and a cell phone loss of signal. Hardwired and proximity vehicle panic alarms communicate with the central tracking station. A remote engine kill is provided. A tracking server within the tracking station stores data and generates reports and alarms. HF radio and cell phone communication between the tracking station and the vehicle are also enabled.

A distributed network for producing consensus, featuring methods comprising: playing, by an Exchange Player, a set of individual speaker videos created by an Exchange Recorder, wherein the set of individual speaker videos comprise an Exchange between a plurality of speakers; displaying, by a user interface of the Exchange Player, replies to the current speaker video as a vertical list of thumbnails overlaying a side of the Exchange Player user interface; and providing, by a user interface of the Exchange Player, the ability for users to rate speaker videos to indicate their level of agreement with the speakers, and for their ratings to be used to measure audience consensus with speaker videos at various levels, including post, thread, and conversation.
