Abstract:

A dust suppression guard includes a shroud defining an enclosed space. The guard also includes a clamp mounted adjacent a first end of the shroud, a reinforcing member attached to a central portion of the shroud, and a boot attached adjacent a second end of the shroud. The dust suppression guard also includes a hose mounted to and extending through the shroud in communication with the enclosed space. A dust suppression system may include a vacuum source having an attached vacuum hose, where the vacuum hose connects to the hose mounted to and extending through the shroud.

Abstract:

A flood control system for use in a structure having a basement floor below ground level is provided. The flood control system comprises a sump, a main pump positioned in the sump, and a secondary pump positioned in the sum. The secondary pump is raised relative to the main pump to a predetermined elevation. The main pump is energized when a height of water within the sump is at a first level. The secondary pump is energized when a height of water within the sump reaches a second, higher level and is de-energized when a height of water within the sump drops to a third level. A cover is releasably mounted to the sump. The cover includes a first section for covering the main pump and a separate second section for covering the secondary pump. At least one of the first and second sections is hingedly mounted to the sump. A controller is operatively connected to the main pump and the secondary pump.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a ventilation system for a building including a conditioning unit, a ventilation unit and a control unit. The conditioning unit is mounted in at least one of a door and a wall of the building for conditioning air as it moves through or into the building. The conditioning unit includes at least one air inlet and an air outlet, spaced from the air inlet. The at least one air inlet communicates with at least one of air within the building and atmosphere and the air outlet communicates with air within the building. The ventilation unit is spaced from and communicates with the conditioning unit for expelling air from the building to atmosphere. The ventilation unit includes an air inlet and an exhaust air outlet, spaced from the air inlet. The air inlet communicates with air within the building and the exhaust air outlet communicates with atmosphere. The control unit communicates with both the conditioning unit and the ventilation unit for actuating the conditioning unit when the ventilation unit is actuated, in order to regulate a rate of air flow through the conditioning unit.

Abstract:

A dust collection device for attaching to a demolition tool includes a hollow first body, a hollow second body, and a suction tube. The hollow first body can be configured to connect with an associated demolition tool. The hollow second body can connect with the first body and the two bodies can cooperate to define an internal space. The second body can be at least one of (i) selectively removable from and reattachable to the first body at or adjacent a distal end of the first body without damaging the first body or the second body and (ii) rotatable with respect to the first body. The suction tube can connect to at least one of the first body and the second body. The suction tube can define a passage in fluid communication with the internal space.

Abstract:

A temporary safety box for assistance in excavation of an associated below grade foundation wall is placed in an associated trench located adjacent the associated foundation wall. The safety box comprises a wall member including an inner surface, an outer surface, a first end face and a second end face. The inner surface faces the associated foundation wall and includes a reinforcing element for providing strength and rigidity to the wall member. The outer surface abuts a wall of the associated trench and is configured to assist in removal of the safety box from the associated trench. The first and second end faces abut the associated foundation wall. The safety box and the associated foundation wall together substantially surround a worker in the associated trench to protect the worker from excavated debris.
