A retractable screen is provided for covering a structural opening by mounting it within the opening. The screen comprises a screen panel, first mounting means for mounting the side edges of the screen panel, and second mounting means for mounting the top edge of the screen panel. The first mounting means is further selectively releasably secured to the respective side edges of the screen panel by zipper means such that unfastening the zipper means at both side edges permits the screen panel to be retracted generally upwardly while the mounting means remain generally in place.
