Abstract:

A gravity liquid filtration apparatus includes a housing with a pool forming assembly mounted between a pair of side walls in the housing. The pool forming assembly includes a central shaft with a pair of spaced-apart discs rotatably mounted on the shaft between the side walls. A filter media is supported on an endless loop carrier belt, and pressed against the peripheral edges of the containment discs along bottom arcs thereof to form a generally semi-cylindrical shaped pool. A liquid inflow assembly on the housing includes a delivery head with a nozzle portion having an elongated mouth aimed downwardly to discharge liquid onto a downwardly sloped portion of the filter media. A box is formed in the delivery head above the nozzle of a size to permit large objects such as pens and pencils to fall flat and be discharged through the mouth of the nozzle. Each disc in the pool forming assembly includes a groove along the peripheral edge with a resilient seal ring journaled in the groove to provide a seal against the filter media and carrier belt. Each disc includes a plurality of overflow apertures formed therein and located along a circle centered on the shaft.

Abstract:

An ink refill bottle for a modified inkjet printhead cassette which has a rear wall opening through which the refill bottle may be inserted comprises a front wall connected to a rear wall by sidewalls to form an ink reservoir chamber, a foam adaptor for drawing ink from the ink chamber when called for by the printhead cassette, and an air inlet metering device for metering air into the ink chamber to replace the ink drawn from the ink chamber and for retaining the remainder of the ink in the ink chamber.

Abstract:

An endless media filtration system includes a housing with a pool forming assembly mounted between a pair of side walls. The pool forming assembly includes a central shaft with two spaced-apart containment discs rotatably mounted on the shaft between the side walls. An endless loop filter media belt is supported on an endless loop carrier belt and includes an upper run which is pressed against the peripheral edges of the discs to form a generally semicircular shaped pool along bottom arcs of the discs. A separation pan is located between upper and lower runs of the carrier belt to direct filtered liquid to one side of the carrier belt and out the bottom of the housing. A backwash assembly includes a first spray rod spraying air through the filter media, a second spray rod spraying water through the filter media, and a third spray rod spraying air through the filter media after the filter media has passed under the second spray rod. The spray rods are oriented on the inward side of the filter belt and spray through the filter belt to remove particulate therefrom. A pair of freely rotatable tracking wheels engage the filter media belt and stretch it taut between the tracking wheels to remove wrinkles from the media belt.
