About:
Charles Badalamenti is a true New Yorker through and through. Born and raised in Astoria, Queens, he has called New York home all his life and would not have it any other way. “I can’t imagine ever living anywhere else,” he says. “As the epicenter of so many industries and so much culture, New York truly is the best city in the world.”
Through the years, Charles has used this passion for the city to immerse himself in as many different neighborhoods as possible. As a result, his knowledge of various markets is vast and unrivaled by most colleagues in the real estate industry. “Every neighborhood has its own history and its own story,” he says. “What makes them different is what makes them special, and I have embraced the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of as many areas as I can.”
Charles’s efforts are evident from the numerous relationships he’s built since joining the industry, from landlords and property managers to supers, doormen and porters. It’s these relationships that enable him to stay one step ahead of the competition, usually the first to hear about unique opportunities that his clients can take advantage of. “Given the fast-paced nature of New York City real estate, it’s essential to stay on top of the market so that clients can act on deals and information not readily available to just anyone.”
Known as one of the most knowledgeable real estate professionals on the downtown Manhattan market, Charles particularly enjoys tapping into his expertise of the bustling Financial District. “After having done business in pretty much every building in the area, I truly know the inventory like the back of my hand,” he says.
Charles was drawn to real estate at an early age after watching his parents invest in and manage properties in Astoria. “It felt like something that came naturally to me,” he says. Before starting his career in real estate, however, he owned and operated a coffee parlor in Astoria, learning valuable lessons about operating a business and providing the best possible service to customers. “Years later, it’s clear that this was an experience that prepared me very well for my real estate career,” he says. “I grew to love meeting customers from all different walks of life, as each brings a new story and new possibilities. This is especially true in real estate, where there is no more rewarding feeling than finding a client that perfect home that you know they’re going to be happy in.”
Charles’s approach to clients is simple: Be honest and earn their trust. “If you can do that, you’re able to connect with your clients on a personal level,” he says. “This makes an inherently stressful process that much smoother, which is what all clients deserve at the end of the day.”
