Abstract:

A compound for reducing the incidence of pseudofolliculitis combines a mild skin astringent, an oil based epidermal softener, and a hair stiffener. One embodiment of the compound combines refined powdered oatmeal and emollient of the compound combines refined powdered oatmeal and emollient oil, such as mink oil and liquid vitamin A in a petroleum jelly base. The mixture is applied by being massaged into the skin prior to lathering and then again immediately after the rinsing of the face after shaving. Continual usage significantly reduces the eruption of pseudofolliculitis. The compound would also include Borage Oil and Evening Primrose Oil rich in Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).

A finishing size composition and method of making and using same as a finishing size to control the dimensional stability of woven fabric in which a paste comprising a noncongealing, hydrophillic, starch ether or ester or combinations thereof exhibiting five gram alkali fluidity from about 10 millimeters to about 97 millimeters is padded to fabric at a temperature of less than 140. degree. F. after which the padded fabric is dried and has an add-on weight increase of from about 0. 5-4. 5%.

Abstract:

A warp yarn sizing composition and method of making and using same as a warp yarn size to control the abrasion between a warp yarn and a filling yarn in which a paste comprising a noncongealing, hydrophilic, starch ether or ester or combinations thereof exhibiting five gram alkali fluidity from about 10 millimeters to about 97 millimeters and a thin boiling starch is slashed to the warp yarn prior to a weaving operation and whose use, following the weaving operation, results in significantly shortened laundry cycles at lower temperatures, without detergents to achieve a soft hand form denim.
