Abstract:
A one piece blow molded cover panel removably positionable in an access opening in a structure adjacent to a threshing region of an agricultural combine. The cover panel includes an inner wall, an outer wall generally co-extending with the inner wall in spaced relation thereto defining at least one cavity therebetween, and elongate upper and lower peripheral edge, and elongate spaced, side peripheral edges. A lower inner lip extends downwardly from the inner wall and the lower peripheral edge along substantially the length thereof, and an outer upper lip extends upwardly from the outer wall and the upper peripheral edge along substantially the length thereof, the cover panel having a size for insertion into the access opening in covering relation thereto with the lower inner lip in abutting relation to a lower edge of the structure defining a lower periphery of the opening and the outer upper lip in abutting relation to an upper edge of the structure defining an upper periphery of the opening, providing effective retaining, sealing, and enclosing functions.
A wear strip easily mountable on an outer surface of a support member or structure of a feeder of an agricultural combine, for preventing wear of the support member and a feeder chain movable thereover. The wear strip includes an elongate body of a molded plastics material having a longitudinal extending side to be positioned in facing relation to the chain and an opposite longitudinally extending mounting side to be mounted on the support member, the mounting side including at least one molded plastics mounting tab extending outwardly therefrom in a position for insertion into at least one hole through the support member, respectively. The mounting tab includes at least one resiliently displaceable or biasable projection spaced from the body and oriented so as to extend in a predetermined direction from the mounting tab, the projection defining a locking portion or detent for cooperatively engaging an edge of the hole or an inner surface of the support member for holding the tab in the hole with the mounting surface of the body in abutting relation to the outer surface of the support member while allowing limited longitudinal movement of the body relative to the support member.

A transition section for a forward end of a threshing region of an agricultural combine, for receiving crop material feed into the threshing region, the transition section being made from a single spin formed metal sheet.
A container for a nucleus hive of bees is provided including a box having a polygonal shaped bottom and a plurality of side walls. Each one of the plurality of side walls extends upwardly from an edge of the polygonal shaped bottom. A side edge of each side wall is attached to a side edge of an adjacent side wall and upper edges of the side walls form an opening. The opening has an area larger than the area of the polygonal shaped bottom and a shape substantially corresponding to the polygonal shaped bottom. A hive frame support means is positioned on inner wall surfaces of a plurality of the side walls. A polygonal shaped removable lid is configured to rest upon and cover the opening. The box and lid are preferably formed from a rigid commodity grade plastic material.

International Classification:
A01K 49/00
Abstract:
A package and system for holding and transporting small living beings, particularly, insects such as honeybees and the like, configurable in a robust, sturdy three-dimensional shape for handling and transport by mail and commercial carriers, which prevents stinging from within the package, allows escape of smaller accompanying insects such as hive beetles, is interlocking with others of the packages and strong enough to support other packages and items thereon; that provides for air flow through and about the package for heat dissipation for proper honeybee environment; that accommodates food and separately carrying a queen bee; and that can be easily and quickly broken down into a non-operational, generally flat configuration for initial sale, transport, and storage.
