Abstract:

The tubular hooping device for use with embroidery machines is comprised of a support structure, a base plate, a keyed recess, a location device, and an aligning arm. The base plate rests upon the support structure and is arranged to receive a male hoop portion in the keyed recess formed therein. The location device holds a piece of backing material in place over the female hoop portion received in the keyed recess of the base plate. The aligning arm is arranged to receive a male hoop portion and accurately and precisely seat the male hoop portion within the female hoop portion, thereby securing the backing material and a portion of a garment to be embroidered therebetween. The tubular hooping device can be used in a stand alone manner or in conjunction with a hooping rack.

Abstract:

The flat hooping device for use with embroidery machines disclosed herein is comprised of a base plate having a recess sized to receive a female hoop member and a backing material locator for securing a piece of backing material over the female hoop member. The base plate may be used by itself or with a hooping rack. The hooping rack has a plurality of aligning holes formed in its surface that are arranged to receive aligning pins extending from the bottom of the base plate. The hooping rack also has a plurality of aligning indices and garment locating markings. The aligning indices indicate the position of the recess of the base plate when the base plate is mounted upon the hooping rack. The garment location indices indicate the position of a garment on the hooping rack.

Abstract:

Aligning apparatus for use with a tubular hooping device for capturing a garment to be embroidered on an embroidery machine between two hoop portions. A first apparatus includes a disc sized to fit within the male hoop portion. Registration marks are inscribed on the disk for alignment with the garment. A second apparatus is affixed to the tubular hooping device and provides a guide for alignment with an edge of the garment to be embroidered. Methods for using each aligning device are also disclosed.

Abstract:

An electric heating apparatus for softening and molding fillet wax strips used in foundry molds and castings includes a housing supporting a plurality of electric radiant heaters, such as lamps, above a platform for holding strips of fillet wax during preheating. An electronic control circuit is provided in the housing for varying the heat output of the radiant heaters and includes a thermostat located between the heater and the platform for limiting the temperature to prevent melting of the wax strips. Electrically heat fillet-forming tools, supported in holder on the housing during non-use periods, are provided for forming the preheated wax strips after application thereof to a mold. The tools are provided with ball-shaped tips and the housing is provided with a separate adjustable electronic control circuits for each tool so that the heat output of each tool can be adjusted to a temperature appropriate to the particular wax being worked and the size of the ball-shaped tip.
