Abstract:
A socket connector for parallel circuit boards comprises a dielectric connector body and a plurality of sinuous contact strips which are inserted into cavities in the connector body through top openings and individually retained in the cavities. The contact strips have end tabs disposed in shallow slots in the connector body side walls to stabilize the contact strips and facilitate removal.

Abstract:
An electrical socket connector is detachably connected to a post terminal having two axially arranged contacts. The socket connector comprises a one-piece ceramic connector body having a pair of tiered terminal cavities each of which is closed at one end and has a central guide rib. Each cavity retains an appropriately sized channel-shaped contact terminal and communicates with a socket for receiving the post terminal lead wires which project through a boot for sealing the open end of the connector body. The one-piece connector body is made by dry pressing ceramic powder into a machineable preform with terminal cavities. The preform is then drilled to provide the socket and retention shoulders in the longitudinal ribs.

Abstract:
An electrical connector comprises a connector body and terminal arrangement for electrically connecting a flexible printed circuit and a pair of hardboard printed circuits. The connector body has two rows of terminal receiving cavities, most of which receive generally U-shaped transition terminals which electrically connect the flexible printed circuit to one or the other of the hardboard printed circuits. The hardboard printed circuits may be electrically interconnected by a jumper terminal disposed in corresponding cavities of the two rows and directly engaging the confronting faces of the hardboard printed circuits and/or by a bridge terminal engaging transition terminals in corresponding cavities of the two rows.

Abstract:
An electrical connector has an attachment means comprising a funnel wrap wire crimp barrel, that is, one which is funnel-shaped in the axial direction and partially overlapped in the circumferential direction. The attachment means further comprises an intermediate, funnel wrap insulation crimp barrel and a funnel-shaped, split guide ring in one embodiment. In a second embodiment, the attachment means further comprises a cylindrical, split insulation crimp barrel.

Abstract:
A duplex insulation displacement terminal comprises first and second terminal members connected side-by-side in a laterally spaced relationship by an integral bus strip. Each terminal member has a pair of spaced, longitudinally slotted plates which are connected by a side wall. The side wall of each terminal member has an elongated window near its slotted end.
A socket assembly for a baseless cartridge lamp of the dual filament type has identical terminals for engaging the loop and hook terminals at the opposite ends of the lamp. The terminals have a spring tongue which engages the lamp terminals and a spring support which increases the spring forces acting on the lamp terminals. The terminal has a side wall with a flange for limiting torque deflection in one direction and a second flange which cooperates with the spring support. The spring support has an inturned foot which engages the spring tongue to limit deflection in the opposite direction. The side wall also has an extension for attaching the terminal to a conductor.

Abstract:
An insulation displacement terminal comprises a base having a pair of integrally connected side members. Each side member has slotted end plates which are juxtaposed the respective slotted end plates of the other side member to form two pairs of longitudinally spaced plates having cooperating slots which impart a scissors-like action against the conductive core of an insulated electrical conductor which has its insulation pierced as it is forced into the slots.
A high current electrical socket connector has a resilient metal contact strip which is rolled into a split tube and fitted inside a barrel terminal. The contact strip has a plurality of vanes which are shaped to resiliently support and retain the contact strip in the barrel terminal while providing low pressure, large contact areas for engaging the cylindrical contact surface of a mating electrical plug connector.
