Common Control Channel Dynamic Frequency Assignment Method And Protocol
Charles W. Roark - Plano TX Douglas B. Weiner - The Colony TX Andrew Cilia - Grand Paririe TX Mitchel B. Stiles - Plano TX
Assignee:
Crisco Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H04Q 700
US Classification:
370330, 370447
Abstract:
A method and protocol for dynamic downstream and upstream frequency assignment in a localized microwave distribution system. Downstream frequencies can be assigned via a base station periodic broadcast of a frequency assignment table for a home common control channel in each base station downstream frequency. Customer premise equipment monitors the home common control channel for a frequency assignment message, which preferably includes a table mapping each customer premise equipment, or that equipment for which there has been no recent upstream communication. Downstream frequencies may also be assigned by a customer premise equipment request to a base station sent over a common control channel associated with an upstream frequency associated with a downstream frequency identified during a scan of downstream frequencies. A modified aloha contention algorithm is used if multiple customer premise equipment requests conflict. Upstream frequency and time slot requests are done in similar fashion, with a customer premise equipment sending a request over either common control channel of a currently assigned upstream frequency or a common control channel associated with a downstream frequency with which the customer premise equipment is associated.

Allocating And De-Allocating Transmission Resources In A Local Multipoint Distribution Services System
Charles W. Roark - Plano TX Michael L. Robinson - Arlington TX Andrew Cilia - Grand Prairie TX
Assignee:
Texas Instruments Incorporated - Dallas TX
International Classification:
H04Q 700
US Classification:
370330
Abstract:
A method is provided for allocating and de-allocating transmission resources in a local multipoint distribution services system. In the method, one of an off-hook after idle signal and an incoming call request signal is detected. A frequency and a time slot for a call are assigned at a base system in response to the detection of the off-hook after idle signal or the incoming call request signal. A customer premises equipment unit is tuned to the assigned frequency in order to deliver the call.
Battery Management System For Monitoring A Battery Status
- Lincolnshire IL, US Ajay Sood - Bangalore, IN Charles W. Roark - Frisco TX, US
International Classification:
H01M 10/42 H02J 7/00 H01M 10/48 G01R 31/396
Abstract:
A battery management system is disclosed herein. The battery management system may monitor a charge cycle of a battery. The battery management system may determine a degradation rate of the battery. The battery management system may determine a usage pattern of the battery based on usage of the battery during a time period. The battery management system may determine, using a battery analysis model, a quantity of remaining charge cycles of the battery based on the degradation rate and the usage pattern. The battery analysis model may be trained based on historical data associated with historical usage of one or more other batteries. The battery management system may determine a status of the battery based on the quantity of remaining charge cycles and the degradation rate. The battery management system may perform, based on a time period associated with a remaining useful life, an action associated with the battery.
