Abstract:

A television display system including a display system controller, a transmitter, and an integrated timing controller. The display system controller receives pixel data and pixel timing and control data, and responsive to a pixel data format corresponding to a selected communication standard of a plurality of communication standards that includes LVDS and at least one of RSDS and mini-LVDS, provides formatted pixel data formatted according to the pixel data format of the selected communication standard. The transmitter receives the formatted pixel data, and transmits the formatted pixel data for receipt according to a pixel data rate corresponding to the selected communication standard. The integrated timing controller receives the pixel timing and control data, and responsive to the selected communication standard being one of RSDS and mini-LVDS, generates pixel display timing and control signals to display the formatted pixel data at the pixel data rate corresponding to the selected communication standard on a television display.

Abstract:

A circuit for counting in an N-bit string a number of bits M, having a first binary value includes N latch circuits in a daisy chain where each latch circuit has a tag bit that controls each to be either in a no-pass or pass state. Initially the tag bits are set according to the bits of the N-bit string where the first binary value corresponds to a no-pass state. A clock signal having a pulse train is run through the daisy chain to “interrogate” any no-pass latch circuits. It races right through any pass latch circuit. However, for a no-pass latch circuit, a leading pulse while being blocked also resets after a pulse period the tag bit from “no-pass” to “pass” state to allow subsequent pulses to pass. After all no-pass latch circuits have been reset, M is given by the number of missing pulses from the pulse train.

Abstract:

A method of displaying an image. The method includes acts of receiving pixel data and pixel timing and control signals corresponding to the image, and formatting the pixel data based on a selected communication standard and a transmitter bit rate that corresponds to a number of pixel data bits to be transmitted each transmitter clock cycle. The method also includes an act of generating a clock signal based on the formatted pixel data, a bit rate of the selected communication standard, and the transmitter bit rate, the generated clock signal identifying a mapped bit rate at which the formatted pixel data is to be received by a television display during each cycle of the generated clock signal and which is different than the transmitter bit rate, and also includes the act of transmitting, at the transmitter bit rate, the formatted pixel data and the generated clock signal to the television display so that the formatted pixel data is received by the television display at the bit rate of the selected communication standard.

Abstract:

A magnetically levitated transportation system employs permanent magnet rails along a guideway that interact with permanent magnets on a vehicle. The rails are optimized to reduce magnetic mass and cost of materials, while maximizing lift force. The vehicle is stabilized in the lateral and yaw directions with feedback controlled lateral control coils that interact with the permanent magnet rails on the guideway. A track switching structure employs permanent magnet rails that gradually widen along a segment of track and separate into two identical diverging rails. Feedback controlled lateral control coils in a moving vehicle stabilize that vehicle over one or the other pairs of diverging rails, as directed by a control computer, thereby causing the vehicle to continue along one path or the other, with no moving or active elements required in the track.
