I moved from Tennessee to New York City five years ago for the chance to study with Julia Kristeva. Now I'm about to defend my 90+ page, utterly dense master's thesis, and am ready to get over...

Bragging Rights:

I was offered a TA position with the author of Passion of Michael Foucault but turned it down. My master's thesis advisor is Derrida's translator. I was a McNair Scholar with a damn good thesis and a great advisor, Dr. Linda Badley. I work in the biggest botanical library in the world, in the biggest garden in the US. My poetry was published next to Marge Peircy's. I was an English student TA'ing in a Chemistry classroom (that was fun). I presented at more conferences as an undergrad than many grad students. One of the conferences I presented at required driving up a mountain, which I did. I know how to use Photoshop to scan a document and do it well. I wrote a novel. I've been in a steady relationship for almost 8 years. I read very, very quickly.
