Forty-six-year-old Christopher Barber served five to 10 years in a Pennsylvania prison for injuring Christopher Kostenbader in Saylorsburg. Barber was most recently was living in Plainfield, Illinois.
Walker praised Christopher Barber for turning a seasonal job as a welder into a full-time position during his remarks, as the governor emphasized his ability to create jobs in the state. What's more, several Wisconsin newspapers ran a photo of Barber waving to the audience inside the state Assembly.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel first reported Thursday on Christopher Barber's criminal record. Barber was one of several workers Walker introduced during his speech on Wednesday night to illustrate how the state's economy is improving.
