Abstract:
A system and a method are disclosed for enabling assignment of a responder unit to a user on a water vessel. The rescue system transmits a Short Message Service (SMS) message to a user device on the water vessel, the SMS message comprising a selectable option that, when selected, causes a location of the user device to be shared. Based on a selection by a user of the user device of the selectable option, the system receives a plurality of location coordinates from the user device at a plurality of respective times, each respective location coordinate describing a respective location of the user device at its respective time. The system selects a responder unit to assign to the user based on the plurality of location coordinates and a location of each of a plurality of candidate responder units. The system transmits location information to a responder device of the selected responder unit, the location information based on the plurality of location coordinates.
Seamlessly Tracking A Water Vessel Using Satellite And Mobile Data
A system and a method are disclosed for enabling seamlessly tracking a location of a water vessel by supplementing satellite data with mobile data location based on proximity of a water vessel to shore. The system receives a Global Positioning System (GPS) location of the water vessel, the GPS location of the water vessel based on using the satellite data of the water vessel. The system determines that the GPS location is within a threshold distance of a boundary. Responsive to determining that the GPS location is within the threshold distance of the boundary, the system initiates monitoring for a mobile signal emanating from a trajectory path of the water vessel. The system detects, during the monitoring, the mobile signal, the tracking the location of the water vessel based on mobile data of the mobile signal. The system provides the tracked location to a monitoring device.
System For Accurate Location Estimation Of A Water Vessel
A system and a method are disclosed for enabling accurate estimation of a location of a water vessel. In an embodiment, a rescue system transmits a Short Message Service (SMS) message to a user device on the water vessel, the SMS message comprising a selectable option that, when selected, causes a location of the user device to be shared. Based on a selection by a user of the user device of the selectable option, the system receives a plurality of location coordinates from the user device at a plurality of respective times, each respective location coordinate describing a respective location of the user device at its respective time. The system computes an estimated location of the water vessel based on the plurality of location coordinates and an elapsed time between a current time and a time at which a last-received location coordinate was received. The system transmits the estimated location to a responder device.
Agencies issue recording devices to personnel for administrating and monitoring controlled calls during the course of their duties. To provide flexible capabilities to agencies, a virtual number is provisioned and configured to enable an operator to administrate controlled calls without dedicated recording devices. Using the virtual number, the operator may setup a controlled call between a victim and a baddie. The victim is contacted via the virtual number by the operator and optionally informed about the controlled call process. In turn, the baddie is contacted using number information of the victim's phone and connected with the victim. Call audio between the victim and baddie is transmitted to the operator. When necessary, the operator may terminate the call remotely from the telephonic device the operator used to setup the call.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer readable storage mediums are configured for implementing virtual numbers (VN) for intelligence operations involving source-handler communications in support of an agency. Example embodiments implementing virtual numbers eschew the requirement of the agency to maintain and configure dedicated hardware switches that contain SIM card pairs to manage the transfer of source-handler calls in a compliant fashion. Rather than maintaining physical SIMs for each handler and each source with dedicated hardware, each source and each handler are assigned a virtual number for communicating in a compliant fashion. A source communicates with the handler through the handler VN and the hander communicates with the source through the source VN, and communications completed through the VNs are logged for compliance. Communications between a handler and a source may be permitted only when an association of their VNs exists in a mapping table to prevent unauthorized contact through the VNs.

Abstract:
Agencies oftentimes desire to monitor personnel in the field during the course of their duties. To provide flexible monitoring capabilities to agencies, a common mobile device such as a mobile phone is converted for use as a radio-based listening system to collect and transmit audio data. A relay is implemented within the system to pass message communications between the mobile device and a server such that the server can facilitate establishment of sessions for monitoring the mobile device.

Abstract:
Agencies issue multiple devices to personnel for maintaining distinct identities over the course of assigned investigations. To provide flexible capabilities to agencies, a phone is converted for use with multiple attached telephone numbers. Accordingly, a single phone may be used to manage multiple identities over the course of one or more investigations. Using a multiple attached number, a given device can place and receive calls over the network to and from contacts. In addition to providing multiple attached numbers, calls using the multiple attached numbers may be monitored live and recorded to establish evidence.
