Abstract:

A system and method for maximizing the throughput of test and configuration in the manufacture of electronic circuits and systems. The system employs a tester having a flexible parallel test architecture with expandable resources that can accommodate a selected number of units under test (UUTs). The parallel test architecture is configurable to accept separate banks or partitions of UUTs, thereby enabling the system to obtain an optimal or maximum achievable throughput of test and configuration for the UUTs. The system determines an optimal or maximum achievable throughput by calculating a desired number N of UUTs to be tested/configured in parallel. Testing or configuring this desired number of UUTs in parallel allows the handling time to be balanced with the test and configuration times, thereby resulting in the maximum achievable throughput.

Abstract:

Discrete means of setting a feeder to process a wide range of media, i. e. , sheets, slips, envelopes, booklets and hand collated documents, etc. as well as providing a method of utilizing the feeder for manual feed operation. The foregoing is accomplished by a friction-clutch retard feeder equipped with one or more friction clutches. When a selection lever is moved to a position , a primary clutch engages the separator roller with a resistive torque T. The selection lever configures the mechanism such that the separator roller rotation is resisted entirely by the torque of the primary clutch. When the selection lever is moved to a position , the ground of the primary clutch is removed, and the rotation of the separator roll is coupled through a gear ratio to a secondary clutch. The selection of the gear ratio and the value of the secondary clutch allows the separation mechanism to be resisted by a second torque, T, which can be lower than T.

Abstract:

A system and method that use the TCK and TMS to transmit address and data. IEEE 1149. 1 based tools can use the system and method without modification to make IEEE 1149. 1 TAPs appear and disappear, add compliance-enable circuits without pins and broadcast commands to IEEE P1687 instruments. The system and method use Test-Logic-Reset sequences with Run-Test-Idle to enable an on/off switch of various DFT capabilities. IEEE 1149. 1 compliant TAP interfaces disappear to pass-through wires using the system and method. The sequences communicate an “address” which enables one or more of the TAP interfaces and a “command”. The system and method has benefits for IEEE P1687 instrument chains and on-chip routing of the P1687 network.

Abstract:

A system and method for manufacturing and/or reconditioning side frames and bolsters for railway cars includes at least one robot adapted to access positions along the length of the part. A map of the part dimensions, which may be obtained by a probe or scanner on the robot(s), allows a processor to determine where welding and machining are required to meet certain dimensional tolerances, leveraging novel reference surfaces on the part which cannot be leveraged using conventional gauges. The robot(s) may locate and mount welding and material removal tools to carry out the welding and material removal operations determined by the processor.
