Abstract:

A computerized method is provided that includes (a) receiving from the user a selection of one of a plurality of templates for the digital media album; (b) receiving from the user a subset of media album components; (c) in response to a user input, compiling an interim multimedia album using the selected template, the subset of media album components, and default data for each media album component not included in the subset of media album components, and thereafter displaying to the user the interim multimedia album; (d) receiving from the user additions to the subset of the media album components, and repeating step (c) with the subset including said additions; (e) receiving from the user further additions to the subset of the media album components until all of said media album components are received; and (f) compiling the created multimedia album using the selected template and said media album components.

Abstract:

An application resource manager is provided to organize, prioritize, and optimize data transmissions from several connected applications. Through inter-process communication, the several connected applications may pass all transmission requests to the centralized manager, which will perform all transmissions according to priority. When the transmission includes a download (e. g. , file, email, etc. ), the manager will pass the complete file (or a pointer to the same) to the originally requesting application. The original application may perform post-processing and then use the downloaded data, including making the data available to the user. If however, the requesting application is offline, the manager may also perform, e. g. , the essential post-processing, via a plug-in given to the manager by the application when the application initially connected to the manager. A full sized user interface and a smaller user interface may be provided for un-intrusive execution.

Abstract:

A fastening device that secures containers or ornaments to bracelets or other items of jewelry, and other items used by children such as belts, hair clips, lunch boxes, pouches, mirrors, jewelry boxes and the like is disclosed. The fastening device comprises a holding member having a shank, one end of the shank being fixed to the first object and the other end of the shank having a Z-shaped flange extending therefrom and an attaching member having a Z-shaped opening complementary to the Z-shaped flange such that the Z-shaped opening fits over the Z-shaped flange. When the attaching member is rotated on the Z-shaped flange, the attaching member is secured to the holding member thereby securing a second object to the first object.

Abstract:

A sensor for detecting angular displacement of an object. The sensor comprises a substrate for attachment to the object whose angular displacement is to be sensed and a sensing means attached to the substrate and connectable into an electric circuit. The electric circuit measures the resistance of the sensing means, which changes as a function of the angular displacement. Several embodiments are disclosed, including a conductive elastomer sensor, a conductive ink sensor, a sliding resistor sensor, a force sensitive resistor sensor and a conductive fluid sensor.
