Abstract:

A handheld radiation delivery system is disclosed that includes a two-part delivery module comprising a reusable portion that contains a radioactive source wire and a disposable portion that includes a drive assembly for moving the radioactive source wire between storage and treatment positions. A disposable applicator tip is provided that includes a cannula for receiving the radioactive source wire when in the treatment position and a mechanism for limiting the number of uses of the device. A handheld cable actuator is operatively connected to the disposable portion of the handpiece to impart motion to the source wire.

A bilaterally symmetrical lightweight hand holdable battery powered microprocessor controlled electronic pipette including an axially elongated hollow housing having a vertically extending longitudinal axis. Abstract:

A method and apparatus is provided for consumers to receive the recent settlement histories of their creditors in a web-hosted application that drives the settlement process, so they can use this insider knowledge to settle their debts for cents-on-the-dollar. One embodiment provides a computer assisted tool that tells consumers what their creditors take to settle debts for cents-on-the-dollar, and equips consumers to conduct the settlement process using a turn-key, web-hosted application; or alternatively provides a full-service embodiment that allows consumers to get immediate relief from collectors and be debt free in a matter of months rather than decades. The invention thus provides debtors with at least two principal competitive advantages: it provides debtors with knowledge in advance concerning how much credit card companies may take to settle their debts in view of their financial hardships; and it provides consumers with a turn-key method to settle their debts at discounts equivalent to those that professional negotiators could achieve.

A battery powered, microprocessor controlled portable electronic pipette, comprising a hand holdable housing supporting a battery, a linear actuator for driving a plunger lengthwise in a cylinder to aspirate and dispense fluid into and from a pipette tip extending from the housing and a control circuit for the linear actuator. The linear actuator is powered by the battery and comprises a stepper motor with current receiving windings for electromagnetically driving a rotor to impart the lengthwise movement to the plunger. The control circuit includes (i) a user controllable microprocessor powered by the battery and programmed to generate drive signals for the stepper motor, (ii) a display supported by the housing and electrically connected to the microprocessor, (iii) user actuateable control keys supported by the housing and electrically connected to the microprocessor for generating within the microprocessor pipette mode of operation, liquid pick up volume, liquid dispense, pipette speed of operation and pipette reset signals for controlling operation of the pipette and alpha-numeric user readable displays on the display, (iv) a memory having tables of data stored therein and accessible and useable by the microprocessor to control operations of the pipette, and (v) user actuateable switches supported by the housing for triggering pipette operations selected by user actuation of the control keys.

Abstract:

A mount for supporting a gear shift lever on a tightly undercurved road or racing style handlebar of a bicycle, comprising an annular attachment collar for placement over and close fit to the curve of the handlebar, with the attachment collar securable in place by compression between an existing hand brake lever mount and the handlebar. The attachment collar is defined by an annular wall preferably having varying length allowing for close fit in the inside and outside radii of the tight bend in the handlebar. Extending from the attachment collar is an extending member having a universal shift lever mount stud affixed to a distal portion thereof. The extending member preferably includes one or more angular changes allowing placement of the extending member clear of the brake lever simultaneously with thumb accessible placement of the shift lever relative to normal hand placements on the handlebar. The shift lever mount stud is structured to allow attachment of essentially all existing shift levers manufactured for attachment to the down tube of a bicycle frame, and thus allows the economical re-location of existing shift levers from the down tube of a bicycle upward to the handlebar. Left hand and right hand mounts are provided allowing placing of the rear gear change lever on one side, and the front gear change lever on the opposite side of the handlebar.
